Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Well this morning I finally got round to finishing the seats. I've put new seat bushes in and got them plonked in the car.

Old and new:

The threaded block which the new bushes have to be sanded down to fit either side:

Underneath with the threaded bars removed:

The threaded bars there's a left and right thread so don't mix them up ;)

Collar where the square shaped spring locates on the thread:

The bushes were very easy to do all you need is some rough sandpaper, a T25 and a T50 torx bit.
Unbolt the three bolts one T50 and 2 T25's on each side slide the runner up and pull the thread at the same time.

There not amazing but a damn sight better than before:

:D yeah pretty much. No I'm still going to get to a couple of meets and hopefully a crimbo doo if there is one?

Things left to do:
Bonnet lining
Washer jets
Windscreen wipers
Few clips to order
Re dye hood (already cleaned)
New rear window
Bit of flatting and polishing here and there.

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Thanks again for all the comments as always the z4 is my mums and you have a very keen eye @-) I didn't even notice it was there! Not got round to spraying the hardtop yet as I just want to get the car finished then it'll be done as and when. The seats do look better in the pics but I'm happy with them for now, it actually felt really strange to sit in the cockpit again but I like it :D :coolsteer)

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Got the hardtop sprayed this weekend due to a slight problem. I had re-dyed the roof and planned to put a new rear window in however when I removed the old window I found the zip is knackered so I'll be getting a new hood at some point. If anyone wants to buy a zip in rear window drop me a pm ;)
I'm planning on getting the car MOT'd this week so we'll finally be on the road whoop whoop :coolsteer)
Next thing on the list is to spray the wheel centres graphite but not till next year.
