Yep good table, it does make the distinction between dry and coated fasteners, as the friction coefficient is lower on coated parts so less torque is required, the web site Bolt Science is also good, saves me writing down info for you, give it a read.

I have some torque calc software also from my fastener design and manufacturing days, I will search it out, and should be able to email it to you.

Bit more done finished the charger bracket along with the supports.
Top one needs to be welded then we're good to go. I can put all my body weight on the mount with just the one support bolted in and it doesn't budge :D

Had some 35mm stainless spacers made to raise the charger off the bracket.

Looking good, like any of these type of projects it is suck it and see, if you get away with no issues first time, then fantastic luck, but if you do have issues, then they are all part of the project adjustments, just dont let them get you down if they occur, plus it will be good knowledge for anyone else who fancies having a go, really looking forward to the finished article and some power figures.

Just a bit more of an update picking up the powder coated parts Friday so can get all the running gear back on and built up!
Been busy at work today tig welded pipe work onto the flanges for the supercharger inlet and outlet. Still have to do a bit more to them but need the car back together for that! Welding could be better but I haven't picked up a tig since college about 10years ago so not too shabby :D
As you can see the inlet had to be formed from a 76mm diameter pipe to a 60 mm x 30mm rectangle. I did this in the fly press then used a mallet to get the rough shape. This was then welded on and ported out to match the inlet on the charger 'ish'

There are three bolt strength grades at the top, 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9
Doh I can see it now
I thank you
Is there not a standard bolt strength on vehicles used
The socket head is mostly used on my bike

Most of the bolts we made for triumph were 10.9 all socket button heads. Cars use a mixture of 4.8 self tappers for small items inside vehicles, 8.8 for larger items inside vehicles, then a mixture of 10.9 and 12.9 bolts on the outside for chassis parts etc, either ext drives or internal torx drive styles.

The description 10.9 for example is where the minimum tensile load is 1000Nm for the 10 and the 0.9 is multiply factor to get the proof load I.e 0.9 x 1000 = 900Nm, tightening torque can be any thing between 65 and 85 percent of the proof load, depending on clamping load required. It is possible to utilise 95 percent proof load in controlled applications and is common on engine bolts to introduce permanent set.

Hope that helps a bit more

Ooh, that sounds interesting. I'm a bit behind on publishing the wiki's, but I should be able to catch up soon... :bag:

Hi from snowdrift Canada! What a superior job you're doing. All this from a few small rust spots that were probably not so noticeable. That white is especially nice and bright and I wish I could see it in person. Keep up the good work and thanks for taking the time to share. JIM

Starting to get things back together. Front subframe which was strengthened and steering rack on with new track rod inner and outers. Got the M50 manifold on and started relocating a few bits to fit the charger pipe work in. Also managed to source a vortech FMU and have installed all new fuel lines front to back including pipes on the tank. Also in the process of fitting a wallbro 255 fuel pump will take pics of that later.
