You did say it might be pushing things to be ready Daz. Life comes first mate, bet you're looking forwards to driving it again all the same.

Is that your boost reading or your quarter mile time? Stereo isn't everything when other needs can occupy the space. JIM

The digital readout is the afr at idle and the other gauge on the dash is the boost ;)

How did you get rid of the ABS light Daz?

Tony.
Originally the abs light went out when I first went up the road and yesterday it came on. I think I'll wait until I take it for a good spin before I try and resolve it properly trouble is its an MOT failure which isn't helping me.

Hi Daz, my Z did the same light came on and off over long period and it turned out to be the ABS pump module, worth checking if you can't find the fault any where else, it transpired that it's a common fault on these Z3 modules made in the 80s the solder breaks down and causes the light to come on sometimes giving the code of any other part in that system i.e. wheel sensor. Worth knowing as I changed two sensors before getting the pump code. Pump from main dealer is four figures but you can get it repaired for less than a quarter of that and get a lifetime guarantee on the repair if it is the module. Hope this might help.

Hi @Rha on my car the module is separate to the pump, it's in the passenger footwell behind the glove box with it being an earlier 97 model. Trouble is I've not driven the car for any distance to see if it goes out again. It has all new sensors a second hand pump which has been tested. Next on my list is to check the sensors for resistance so barring that all I can see it being is a wiring issue or the control module. Thanks

After finally getting rid of all lights on the dash, I decided to move the boost gauge to a better location which looks more stock (or somewhere that doesn't look like an after thought) just have the front bumper the finish mounting and it's ready for the MOT. After I've found a decent insurance quote.

The stainless panel will be painted satin black eventually.

Shame you think you have to move it Daz cos like you've said the new panel only needs painting and if pos the guage moved over in line with the heater switch and a chrome surround but that's being very finicky. Would love to come and help you do it if I wasn't so far away. Hope you've cured the light problem and can't wait to see your Z in the flesh. Don't know how far from Torsky Lock you are but some of us meet up there now and again so maybe we could let you know next meet, sure @t-tony wouldn't mind just one more Z cluttering up his drive. =)) Let us know when your up and running.

Thanks Roy that's very kind I'm about an hour away from Torskey Lock, so would be a nice run out when I get sorted. As soon as it's had the MOT done I'm going to whip the console out to paint the facia panels as I'm not happy with the vinyl wrap, then that'll be it as I'd like to get some miles done this year and see about getting it remapped which it's going to need.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed from what I've heard, love to have gone down that road but it's come a little late for me, can't wait to get a good look under your bonnet. Best of luck with the MOT, Tony could put you right regarding the MOT being a tester.:wacky:.............;)

Roy.

I''m waiting also to see how this project turns out. I'm all for supercharging and would really like to see what my little soldier of a 1.9 can put down for numbers with a SC. Keep up the great work! JIM
