Great work Ant, love the look of the rear speakers and the body brace.
Don't worry about the wife Ant, just keep on doing the jobs for her first, then do the Z, it works honestly, worked for me over the ten yrs of Z ownership:bored:. Not easy but a lot better than giving the Z up.
Look to your PMs.

Roy.

Looks great @Antm72 and truly hope the hand gets back to normal quickly! It's tough looking out at the Zed knowing it wants a runabout and you can't do it. Take care, JIM

Started my rear subframe over haul today.
I decided it was probably easier to refurb a rear beam and then swap it out so Adrian provided me with a beam and the fun started.
I've been looking at approach a while and have decided it can be done in three stages.
2x swing arms/ drive shafts and then beam with diff making it alittle easier to man handle too.
The dreaded beam bushes have been first, reading about the removal etc i thought i'd give it ago...
Looking for a way to do this found that i could press the centres out in full and easily with my ball joint press.

This worked extremly well and pushed the entire core out with all the rubber only really leaving the collar.

A quick hack saw cut down this freed it alittle and i applied heat this intern burning out the small amount of rubber left between the beam and the collar.

A few more minuites and the collar tapped out with ease.

Only took 25 mins a side was really pleased.

Will clean up the beam now and have it powder coated ready for stage two. I may apply heat to strip it down as it takes every thing off to bare metal will get a good refinish on it that way.
Thought this may be one of the hard jobs but have found it to be fairly easy first tick on the list
