A couple of bonnet upgrades. The air intake is wrap but will be changed to either Ali or Stainless steel later on. The streaks up the bonnet are stainless. I think the upper one is too long but will see how it looks once I get the car outside
Watching with interest - I'm hoping to start my build soon. What did you use for the strips on the bonnet? are they off a herald (like the door handles)?

looking fantastic🙂👍

Yes, the bonnet stripe is a herald. I have a spare one for sale if you need one. The large section is aluminium plate buffed up to a high shine. I think I’ll add some black vinyl rectangles to make it look as if it’s an air vent

One of my other projects is a herald so I have a few spare :) but thanks. Still working on ideas for the large section. Shame that the original ideas for the door handles didn't work out.

I spent ages on the handles but the throw of the push rod wasn’t enough to activate the mechanism. I couldn’t work out how to multiply the movement using pivots and levers. The herald handles work well.
I think mg ones might also work but would need to check

Did you look at MK1 mx5 handles, they might work

This is a great thread, Dan…you don’t by any chance still have the original headlight washer nozzles do you? Am after a pair in good working order.

Last week I fitted the inner fender guards and trimmed them back, then extended them out to the new arches with 2mm thick rubber strips. This was bought on a 1.5m length x 150mm wide strips which could be trimmed to the correct size.

Looking good, is the silver Z3 a donor for your next project?
I have a full California 250 kit available if you are interested, it's even in the same colour as the 507.

Pingu, I have some alloys available that I bought for my 365 project, they could work on your car.

I’m not sure of the plans for the Silver Zed, it’s fun as it is 😃
I have toyed with a different kit so let me know how much you want for your kit and what parts are included

Are you stock suspension? are you planning on lowering or anything? (just MOT'd my donor and it's going to need some suspension work so considering my options for after my build - it would be a shame to do something now then have to change when I do the kit)

I have sport suspension as a factory option which I believe is 30mm lower than standard.

This one has H&R lowering springs and I think it was a 50mm drop, but it feels lower as I struggle to get out 😆😆

Sport suspension is normally 15mm lower than standard.

I need 17" as I have M calipers. I've tried 16" and they don't fit.

I went BC Racing coilovers on my Kobra kit to give me the flexibility I needed. Had them fitted before starting the kit.

They certainly not as plush as stock but not as stiff and crashy as some cheap aftermarket alternatives

I think the BC ones are about £1k a bit more than I want to spend at the moment - puts back getting the kit! AP are a bit cheaper
