Very smart. They really lift the car up a notch or two.
I was going to leave mine alone but I think I will de-tango it. Do you know how to smoke the rear clusters?

The Silver Zed got treated today to a hardtop and fitting kit. Managed to get them for a bargain :D

So now both my Z3s are set for the winter

The Blue one is jacked up at the rear at the moment as I’m sorting out the handbrake, cleaning everything up and sorting out the rust spots.

Really liking the hardtop on the Silver one, feels like a completely different car.

The fitting kit went on easy and everything lined up well first time

Looks great. Is there such a thing as a bargain hard top and fitting kit?! I'm still searching.

Thanks. Can’t believe my luck getting the silver one for a bargain and it turned out to be the right colour silver as well. Don’t think the bloke really knew what he was selling.
He just said it was silver and didn’t know anything more than that. He was selling it with his car and I cheekily asked if he would sell it separately. He said yes and said he would chuck in the fitting brackets!
Result.

This one was ;)

Persistence and constant searching on eBay and Gumtree, and asking people who are selling it with their car if they would sell it separately.

Hardtops completely change the look and feel of any zed, definitely worth getting one if you use the zed during winter. You could have a winter and summer zed, having 2 winter ones is just greedy ;)
I know, but it's an addiction =))

Got the Blue Z3 handbrake sorted finally.

When I bought the car she had been sat for a year :( and the handbrakes had rusted on. So I had to pull her free with the X5 to release the handbrake shoes. In doing so it caused a rattle on the drivers side rear wheel. Experience told me that it had pulled the handbrake retaining clips off and the spring was loose and rattling around in the hub.

Once I’d taken the rear discs off, my suspicions were correct. The passenger side handbrake was fine, but the drivers side was FUBAR’d. Where the 2 retaining clips for the handbrake shoes attach to the brake dust plate, the holes were severely rusted. So by pulling the car loose it had ripped the clips straight through the plate. Result being a new dust plate required.

So after fitting the new plate and new shoes, I though I would clean up the arches and attend to any rust areas. Overall not bad for an 18yr old car

Even gave the calipers a coat of blue paint ;)

Also managed to finally fit the clear rear light from @spurs fan in a coupe

Just need the clear side indicators and clear headlights now (it never ends)

Still have the Silver one as well but it’s off getting its battery tray welded :(
But at least it makes space for the new one ;)

They are breeding, do something!!!

Is it a 2.8? Did you buy it to keep, or to break?
