Today has been a busy day! I plan on repeating some of this information about the route to the track from the hotel in a new thread for the actual "Local" Cruise to the track for Zfest.
BMWCCGB during the conversations today are as pleased as punch with what we are doing and when I was talking to them they suggested that we do a writeup about Zroadster.org's Zfest get together. When I said it would make some really dramatic pictures because of where we are staying they asked for a link to the gallery which I sent them as a result they are investigating if they can get a photographer to us on the Saturday Morning before we set off to get some good shots. I intend to try and get where the dedicated parking is at the hotel moved so that we can get better shot as although the area is fine and is close to the Car wash facilities it won't make the best picture. And I am sure we would all like great pictures! Any way the net upshot is it looks we will get a article published in Straight Six about Zroadster.org. I know that make me feel good about us!
Second as you may already have seen from the silverstone Zfest thread, I have managed to get some details about what is happening on the day regards to how BMWCCGB are planning the day in terms of displaying the cars. If not please take a look.
I am also asking the question of Goose the organisers as to what the chances are of people who are travelling Friday getting into the evening entertainment, Do not hold your breath I doubt it will come to pass but nothing ventured nothing gained.
Third I have started to get details about the route from the hotel to the track so that we can start to plan our time to leave the hotel and pick up those people enroute that have not joined us at the hotel. On that note could people PM me please if they want a breakfast at the hotel that are not staying there. I do not expect many takers but I do think I should ask.
The information I have reference roads is: Road management will be improved this year with Dadford Road being made into 3 lanes rather than 2. There are no one way systems put in place on the A43, so traffic flow as usual. All car clubs will be directed into Car Park 49 off the Dadford Road before the main gate roadway. Tickets and vehicle passes will then be checked. Cars then proceed to Gate 1 into the infield. As soon as you have driven through Gate 1 you will be directed right. Drive for approx. 250 meters and then turn left and you will have arrived at the car club display area. Now with regard to the details from what I have been told what then follows is that we follow the BMW roundel and arrow and will then be marshalled by people in high viz jackets.
My next step is to look in detail at the maps and post the detailed route from Horwood to Silverstone..... post a picture of the route on a new thread and suggest a departure time from Horwood. Snoops is offering to help me by checking out the route and look for any decent parking areas because she's not the only one who's not staying at Horwood and would like to be in the convoy arriving at Silverstone.
Finally BMWCCGB have learnt from the DTM event that they supported with a track parade lap that if you do not have your license with you you cannot get out onto the track so as posted elsewhere do not forget your license.

Many thanks Duncan for your efforts in making the weekend special for us Zedders. 
As well as the BMWCCGB photographer taking photos on the Saturday morning, I'm sure we will be clicking away with our cameras, especially with our Zeds lined up on the long drive coming away from the hotel. As those who have been on cruises would know, taking photos can take some time, and there will be a lot of us wanting to take photos.
Think we will have to set our alarms clocks for an early start.

I have decided for logistical reasons (I'm too lazy to get up at 6AM to get to Silverstone on time) that my Girlfriend and me are going to stay at Horwood House for the Friday night before Zedfest.
I have been on the website, and when I put the code from page 1 into the booking form, it does not apply a discount. Fortunately the website does still say that rooms are available for the Friday night.
Has the discount expired, or will I be able to still get it if I phone the hotel direct on Monday?
I'm looking forward to driving to Silverstone in a massive Zorg convoy

The Hotel are honouring the Discount and Matilda has expressed her surprise that the code has caused problems so lease call her on 01296722316 but by all means book at the higher rate they will make sure you get the discount, I have been assured of this. Duncan, sorry to be a pain but can you update the list to include us for the Saturday night as well please. I have contacted the hotel and booked the extra night.
