Saturday 29th?

Who are you expecting in? Happy to drop in and say hello, hopefully avoiding those damned potholes.

Gary is here again and who ever decides to have a spin out. Some of the potholes now filled BUT be careful ;)

Entertaining day at Zed Shed West yesterday, nearside sill on Garys Z3 replaced and inner sill cleaned and treated they did the offside last week. Minimum amount of rust at the inner sill ends but the old cover sill was getting crusty inside. Good covering of Clear Waxoyle applied before the new sill fitted back on. I did pressure wash the wing liners whilst they fettled the sills, ended up cleaning @Nodzed liners that were sitting in the corner as well. @Iamjonw popped in during the afternoon, put straight to work, making the tea, nice to meet another Zed Shedder. It all went back together without too much bother, Gary was armed with the various trim clips and new screws that needed replacing, they always break when taking it all apart. A bit of fettling needed for the front lower panel with some packing washers to get the door and bonnet gap good and it was once again intact. Should have taken some pictures, always forget to do that, too busy talking.

Is that just a show plate mate? I saw a couple on parked cars at Thoresby today.

Tony.

Errrmmmm well yes no yes no officer  it's on there and I haven't been pulled yet. Spent today in Wales and passed loads of Rozers. They didn't seem very interested.

Closed this Saturday (5th)

So with the 'Shed' being closed over the weekend, I thought I would tackle another job that needed doing and fix the passenger side mirror. This had been subject to 'Kerbside Autos' prestige repair previously and was offensive to my eyes. I availed myself of an X8R repair kit and decided to have a go. It took a while to clear out all the gunk and access the retaining bolts, but other than that it was a straightforward enough and simple job. Pretty pleased with the end result.

The base of my passenger side wing mirror has all bubbled under the paint.
It's not rust I don't think, but some sort of reaction between the paint and the alloy?

Are they the originals? if so the Ali corrodes under the paint.

Can they be taken off sanded down and resprayed, or does it require news bits?

They should sand down, if there is any pitting you may need a skim of filler to get them smooth. Etch Primer them followed by colour choice.

New bit of kit for Zedshed West. :)
Suspension work wont make the bum twitch now. 😲
