Wow 2.0 Sport. That’s a very rare car. I had one back in the day when I was 20. Gorgeous car - well it seemed it after 3 Mk 1 Escorts before it. Blew every penny of savings on it. I saw a few at the time. But never one since. Has he still got it?
No, it's long gone mate. It had some nice (Ricarro?) seats and big rear spoiler.

Yeah it was like that. Though the spoiler was a fairly modest rubber thing. I think it appealed to me as I never made it to an RS2000 Escort and that thing seemed like the closest modern thing with the same Pinto engine. It did 0-60 in 8.8 sec which was pretty quick in those days, especially for a big old unit like that. This is the only decent picture I could find. the UK models had pepperpot wheels from memory.

Further to having a basically dry pit to work in and having adapted the oil drainer I set about making a ladder for pit access yesterday.

I was given this slightly bent 16ft ladder about 3 years ago.
I now have a 6.5ft and a 9.5ft pair of ladders. Just needed a top making.

Today I recycled an old scaffold board to give an extra 4" of clearance when working over the pit.

Straight off the saw,

and after a bit of tidying. Will give 4" lift. Fitting chocks tomorrow.

Tony.

The last time the pit looked like this was probably when it was built.

Another little mod on the lift today @colb. After getting a quick release on the hydraulic pipe earlier,
20210606_163138.jpg

and making some removable castors and a tow hook" for my trolley jack I thought it would be best to make removal of the ratchet cable lever simpler.
I found a couple of 6mm threaded studs in the GYOTS box, along with a couple of wing nuts.
20210606_161108.jpg

I glued the studs into the lever body with super glue, drilled a couple of plain 6mm nuts to use as thick washers and it looks like this.
20210606_161808.jpg

And fully assembled on the "handlebar" like this.
20210606_163134.jpg

The grip doesn't slide off, I think they're glued.
Given a nice day this week we may have it out on the yard at full height.

Tony.

I will need to make a new gate into the field soon too so it got a quick lick and a promise.

Tony.

ps. My one pet moan with any corded appliance, "Why don't they make the cord 3 times longer?"

I have a lot of fencing to do and fancied spraying. Does spraying penetrate the wood like a brush does though?

It certainly seemed to soak in as quickly as when I painted the big shed with a brush last year Rob, so I would say yes it does. I gave them all 2 coats.

Tony.

ps. Only another 11 left to do, oh and our side of next door’s too.:(

Looking good Tony. I really like to see fencing that’s just been treated.

Well, the birds have already "treated" this one.
