ZedShed(Midlands).

More potting in the garden by Shirl today, me, I got Strimmer out and did all round the edges and along outside front wall.
Then put some gravel down between the pond wall and new oil tank. Been round with the weed killer, cut all the front grass, edged the grass along the footpath and that's about it.
Collector for oil drainer arrived today but being stainless the bottom is quite thin so it may be drafted into kitchen use.

Hi Col, yes it is. I'll get it done tomorrow and post up some pictures. Basically a straight , extendable collector for outdoor use with the added benefit of being able to use the offset one on an extension too.

Liking it Tony, nice work.
You've hid the motor to extend it really well too

After a couple of days I have transformed this,

So I will need to replace a couple of pit boards, and build a different type, a more upright type of oil drainer.
I can only imagine that it has silted up around the outside of the pit because it has been a tad damp for the last 5 weeks.

Great work there Tony,
Looks just right for Roy to take a nap in, after all the painting ;)

After finding the pit virtually dry this morning after all these weeks of rain I'm fairly confident that filling in the pit this year is on the back burner now.
Thinking about doing some work over the pit thoughts turned to oil draining and I thought about the straight tube I made for the lift drainer.

So I made this out of some donated wood.

Tested for weight with 5.5ltr of oil.

36mm hole cut in the cap of a 25ltr drum and it looks like this.

The slotted support allows you to move the drainer right across the width of the pit.

Wow 2.0 Sport. That’s a very rare car. I had one back in the day when I was 20. Gorgeous car - well it seemed it after 3 Mk 1 Escorts before it. Blew every penny of savings on it. I saw a few at the time. But never one since. Has he still got it?
