I wish I was at the finish line today
Good luck .allez,allez,allez.Probably won't be able to see the tour for the next couple of days, off to Gloucestershire tomorrow to take part in a 'Hetchins' ride on Saturday. 32 miles, not much really, but when you haven't ridden a bike for years, it's a bit worrying. Then back for Beaulieu on Sunday. So if I can't walk or sit down that is my excuse.
Just got the bike out of the shed and after pumping the tyres up, found I had to mend a puncture! This is my Hetchins I expect it will put to shame by some at the ride. They have become quite sought after by the enthusiasts.Good luck .allez,allez,allez.
That's a work of art,it should be on a wall .sweet ride man.Just got the bike out of the shed and after pumping the tyres up, found I had to mend a puncture! Not many bikes are worth a fortune because they were made in such large Nos but a few hold their values well.sometimes you own it because you like the craftsmanship in building it and if it can be original spec.@Alan Slade @miller1098
I've got an old Carlton Ten that has the fancy frame lugs. I've also got an old Peugeot Tourmalet too. The Carlton needs a complete renovation. The frame is rusty but can easily be saved. The wheels are good and true, as are the gears. Don't have the old Jones saddle anymore though.
The Tourmalet could do with a good clean but otherwise it's in decent condition. 20 odd years in the shed haven't helped
Are these old bikes worth anything these days?
My bike is not that old, 1989 I think. I haveQUOTE]
Hi Jack, I had no knowledge of the particular bikes you mention. I have researched both and unfortunately they both aren't worth a lot. The Carlton was one of their lower end mass produced racing bikes when Carlton were owned by Raleigh Industries. The Peugeot is a lungless frame that they favoured and not popular with enthusiasts. Both are listed on eBay in various condition.@Alan Slade @miller1098

But I get distracted by these all the time
