What have you bought for your Zed this week?

3 little bits of adhesive tape, which could get me into trouble with the "///M" Police. ;)=))

After cleaning off the last (I hope) of the summer flies.

Tony.
Don’t worry, the M police have their hands full at the moment

If you are trying to pretend your car is something it's not, its your car to do as you wish. BMW totally devalued the M status years ago, for their short term commercial gain in any case, so it matters little anymore. Most BMWs have a m insignia these days. If I still had a true M car, I would remove the badges anyway.
I feel like in all conversations regarding the ///M police and stuff like that people tend to miss the fact that you might just like the "colors" of the stripes due to their racing nature. To me the ///M is not a economical "premium" status but more of the racing sport identity of a BMW model. This is what I think was the initial point of the stripes...

But true nowadays most BMW have one or two ///M badges for the "premium" vibe...

Also, my inner hidden ///M police instincts say that stripes are OK but putting fake ///M badges is a bit annoying 😂

I also got some of these this morning, for the front.

They will be staying in the box until I get some of these for the rear. Then some EBC UltiMax pads and a set of S/S hoses. Probably a job for February time.

What are the UltiMax pads? In the summer I fitted GreenStuff and they are quite nice although perhaps I wanted a bit more bite, but still better than OE Brembo in my experience

I found them better than standard pads and make little dust.

Replacement boot. My original one has holes for a boot rack.. this one doesn’t. Looks in good condition and thankfully the breaker just cut the loom at the hinge. Means I can attach some paracord when removing to help thread my existing loom back in. Will be swapping over my clear high level brake light too

Good luck with the fitting. What’s the issue with the boot rack holes? Do they leak?

Nah.. purely cosmetic,
I just don’t like the look of them… if I could have found an OEM rack I might have kept it

I couldn't understand why my battery clamp wouldn't secure.
The screw had snapped, so a new one from a very helpful chap called Mark at Sopers sorted a new one:

I treated the well in the boot to a coat of SFIXX Black Out Rust Converter Paint in readiness to fit it. Can't see sufficiently well, so will see if those helpful peeps at ZedShed can help on Saturday.

The main light switch in the dash.

Tony.

What is a headlamp switch? 😳
Fire hazard 🔥😁

In all honesty, not just for the Z. It's first job will be sucking the engine oil from a Smart Car.

After that it will most likely be to empty brake fluid reservoirs before doing a brake fluid change.

Tony.

Lost me there.
