Z3 2.8 facelift. Z3 3.0i
New MOT, Yippee.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
It's a bit of a tense time but came through with two minor advisories.
Anti-roll bar bush showing signs of wear, no excessive movement.
Brake pipe corroded
So got on the old PC, taxed for the summer.
But guess what...it's raining, so no top down motoring today ;)

I got an USB C dual port adapter, connected to the cigarette lighter, but the adapter has an on off switch:

So, even thou the cig lighter is always hot, I can actually switch off the USB adapter. Not that an adapter hot wired, but not charging anything, would consume that much battery power...

The one I bought is:

Does this simply plug in or has it got to be wired in?

It takes the place of the cigarette lighter, and is wired to the original power supply (red/black/white and a brown wire). I replaced the connectors that come with the adapter's wire with blade connectors, and also used a Dremel to widen the opening in the console by ~ 1mm.

This is a photo of the adapter and the wiring that comes with it:

That looks a good condition hardtop Mus. Good shine on it!:cool:
Not only is the top in very good condition, but Dan helped me (well, mostly did it) install it, as I had no clues as to where to start. What a gentleman!

Yeah, Dan mentioned that to me, and the four hour drive to get the hardtop. I am assuming that's one way, as it took me over eight and a half hours to get to his place, fit the top, then get home. To be fair, I stopped at Andy's and had at least an hour of delays due to accidents, but hey! 😁

How’s about a write-up on how you did this to post in the Resources section so other members can follow a step-by-step guide?

Well, it's not a particularly difficult thing to do, but involved removing the centre console in my case. If I had the real cigarette lighter I would only need to move the side panels, apparently.

I will see if I can write something up, but I would need to remove the centre console again to take some pictures. I will do that the first weekend in May, as I have some stuff to do next Saturday/Sunday.

That recovery driver looks really depressed, I think he might be heading for a breakdown
