Is there a list of usual suspect areas for water ingress? An idiots guide so to speak.....

...the interior is definitely coming out this week.
There was a good leak test on Wheeler Dealers, a cosmetic smoke machine inside your car, switch on and leak found. May help?

I think when you get the carpets out and interior dried you'll have a chance of seeing where the water ingress is coming from.

Tony.

I may even have my own issue if this weather doesn't improve, my Z3 is standing out and looking very sorry for itself. Does your car let more water in when standing or when moving do you think?

Tony.

ps. Maybe for the sake of £40 or so I ought to get a half cover?

I've got it coming in through the a-pillar so I know the fix for that. As you say, once it's stripped out and properly dried then maybe stand half a chance

Well as a new member I certainly won't be asking any questions given that unfriendly rant! :-(

Everyone gets items with those little silica gel pacs in them. I collect them and keep them in my car. It's amazing how much moisture they absorb. Simply dry them out to regenerate and reuse. This is likely the same thing as in your damp bags and are usually just thrown away. HTH JIM

Weather update at 7.36am.........RAIN!!!!!!!

Hopefully get some dry spells between now and school finishing at 3pm. Hairdryer at the ready with black silicone to try repair the A-pillars.

Seats out to replace bushes and hopefully door cards off to lubricate the electric window mechanism.

Wheels off and up on bricks to get alloys refurbished

Although my interior is water tight, with all this weather I got in mine after its been shut up for a week and it feels damp even though l checked everywhere and its dry.
So those little moisture bags sound a good idea.
