But the trouble is most of this comes from new members who don't know and are simply trying to find out. I had a similar reaction from .net, saying read the previous posts on this subject, but who does that, apart from maybe Jim over in Canada with nowt else better to do.
I get p***** off answering the same questions about M.O.T. stuff, when the testers manual is on here for anyone to read, but do they?, no it's easier to ask me again. That's just people guys.:):)

What the f*** is that supposed to mean? As Tony said, you waist your time giving an answer to a question as people will go and do it anyway. Spend all day covering your car up and your windows to 'reproof' your soft top.!!!

The roof itself is unlikely to leak as @hard top agrees unless it is cut but leaks will occur at the top of the A pillar, through the heater intake under the scuttle, From behind the door cards when water runs past the window seal and where the roof meets the body at the rear if the butyl seal has failed.

The water inside the roof is probably condensation as the foam under the carpets is damp/soaking. Unfortunately you will have to wait till dryer weather and get the seats out to lift the carpets and dry out.

Cleaning the roof will make it look better and stop mould growing.
Thanks for this. I'm hoping to get seats out this Tuesday if the weather is dry-ish. Might need to consider using a friends garage and holding out their for a couple days to get it all out, cleaned, dried and back in

You could struggle with that at this time of year unless you have a VAX and some heating. You could always refit the seats without carpets if yours is a daily car?
