If you are buying unseen by yourself why have car transported to you this would save your time flight costs and any issues driving with welded diff and any insurance issues

@John767 here is the full vin number
WBACH72060LD83355.
I must admit I was surprised that it drove very well, seems mechanicaly sound,no rattles, clonking etc. Lovely smooth gear box and clutch.Steering and brakes feel good.
Plenty of tread on the tyres, the sills are in good nic apart from a dent on the drivers side.
The fabric around the rear window has come untucked from the beading but appears water tight.
Even the seat motors work in all directions.
The Powerflow exhaust sounds nice but would be annoying on a long run, just my opinion of course.

Please note though that by no means am I Ed China and I couldn't look underneath the car,It's too low.
But for that money it seems a fair motor and has a tidy but basic interior.

@John767 let me get this right,
you are thinking of flying best part of 300 miles south to buy a £875 car that the current owner traded in a month ago.
The car has been modified for drifting and has a welded diff.
You are then going to drive this car 300 miles back north, having never driven a car with a welded diff.

Well, I'm always up for a daft challenge and having driven a fairly well sorted 150bhp Chevette with a welded diff on the road, have a rough idea what it'll be like. Honestly, you need your bumps felt mate!

If you manage to get it home, the cost of getting it and a diff swap make it not worth it. If you are involved in an accident I'll bet your insurance will be very much void and I bet they won't insure you if you declare the diff.

Keep looking....
When I drove this zed this morning i was sceptical at first but it's only on tight corners it tends to produce a bit of a judder,oh and it pulls like a train :D.
Loved that gear box, wish the one in my 2.8 was as nice.

I've used the same transporter guy a few times and I think he's reasonable.

He charges £50 for local runs.

Longer distance starts from £100. As a very rough rule of thumb it's £50 an hour of travel. So a 5 hour round trip is £250. But other factors come into it like what he's carrying as ultimately it comes down to the fuel he burns as well as his time.

Also, pricing up the insurance, I've noticed it's coming up as a 2.0 engine:) How big is the difference between the 1.9 and 2.0?
I drove the 1.9 but it's a long time ago, don't really remember it..
Had mine 2.2 for quite a while but don't think I've ever been in the 2.0

E: false alarm.. probably.. When I've checked the DVLA it says 1.9 again..

So, the verdict is, I'll be going for this one ^^ thanks a lot for the suggestion!

@Bozzy many thanks for checking out the silver one, I would love it, but I can't get insurance on it since the welded differential.. :-/

I'm going to pickup the ^^ on Wednesday, is there a chance any of you live around and could give a hand with checking it out please?
I'm sound with bike mechanics but with cars, not so much.. Got sent a receipts for the work done on the car etc., looks solid, would share them but there are personal details so don't want to send them publicly, if anyone wanted to look at it I'd be really grateful and would send a link through PM.

THANKS A LOT TO THE WHOLE LOT OF YOU, saving my ass yet again! :) :) Can't wait to have Zed again haha:)
