I know I'm not teaching you to suck eggs, but one thing I find I can't do without is OneNote App.. it's how I keep tabs on parts, projects, ideas, costs, progress photos, youtube clips..if I upload and manage on my PC, I can then sync it to the OneNote app on my phone so I have instant access...
Love OneNote, lean on it heavily at work instead of paper.

I use Excel for my Z3 banters though. I prefer the spreadsheet format and you can do pointless nerdy stuff like make charts of your spending over time haha :bag:

I work as a Line Manager in Defence..so all the equipment I need to keep tabs on I'd be lost without OneNote..equipment, testing, people, people training, HR..endless ! 😀

Well, it just so happens that I do performance audits of government departments for a living, so I applaud your record keeping! haha😆

And don't worry, it's other colleagues and not me that look at the MoD stuff 😉

ok not much of an update, but I have been doing tons of research plus picking up a few more items.

Followed the advice from @DrWong to get rivnuts and DEOX-Gel and got the famous @Mazza Erbauer bolt extractors !... I also saw Malc had some Chinese takeaway containers for parts...so me being me... looked on Ebay and got a pack of 30 for £9.95 I think... in terms of pipe and small item protection I plumped for ACF-50, though Bilt Hamber Atom Mac has a good reputation

The reasons I haven't fully committed yet are many.... I need to clear my garage of a biblical amount of crap.

This my dear friends is a panoramic shot my garage... not enough room to swing a mouse !!....that lattice white thing in the middle ?... that's my garage door..

There's no way I can restore parts in there at the moment. I also need to get my Peugeot 206SW through an MoT in June, and the brakes need to come off. I also have a Skoda Octavia VRS that needs a little "fettling"

With summer round the corner, it's a good time to apply Deox as it works best the warmer it is. But that obviously means you can't drive it, just at the time of year when you'd want to haha

I've resigned myself to having the car off the road for a few months...so I might SORN it for the duration

Good plan, I wished I'd done that cos it ended up being off the road for nearly three months.

For covering the gel, ignore internet advice to use clingfilm as it's a nightmare. I cut up white bin liners that I had for my kitchen pedal bin - much easier.!

so... doing more work on Operation Garage clearout... got all the crappy gardening stuff out into a small shed for once... then stumbled across my late Dad's massive vice... this thing is massive and weighs a ton... I reckon it might even cope with rear subframe bushing extraction and replacement. Screw is 18 inches long. I might even need to strengthen my bench to fit it !

Morning all.... so I was doing more research on hard fuel line replacement and came across this company that will ship 8mm hard stainless steel lines up to a max of 3 metres (standard is 1 m lengths) wondered if anyone had used them before ?

Eh, no wonder it's massive. Woden (Old Norse: Odin) was the king of the Anglo-Saxon gods. 💪

I'm doing the same job on one of my Zeds. Luckily I've got a garage and just about enough room to do the work. The biggest thing I've got to overcome is osteo arthritis in both knees and shoulders. It's hard to get down on the floor and even harder to get upright again.

Currently I'm no further forward than you are. My car is jacked up and on stands, front wings off, both sills off, full exhaust is off, cut up and ready for the scrap skip, wheels removed, all the main nuts and bolts loosened or removed, so I'm pretty much ready to go.

Good luck with your project

Thanks mate...... yeah 30 odd years of sport have knackered my knees ! i have to get up and down in stages....one thing I've realised I need to overcome is that as it's on a slope it's in gear...which means getting the propshaft bolts out is a "challenge"... some form of extra wheel chocking is required ! Right front is chocked, left side isn't

Switch the car around so at least it will roll away from you. Pleased to see your using axel stands but any solid blocks of wood to act as a second is reassuring. Before going under I always figerously put my weight on the car to see if I can shift it for piece of mind.

thanks ... I've given it the shake test and it's solid. The reason I have it that way round is so I can drag the subframe into the garage and strip it down. My theory being it'll be easier. But I do need to secure the front wheels a bit more admittedly !! good idea with the blocks.. I will do when I get the outer sills off....
