The Zed Shed Paint Division, East Coast

Wherever have you two been going, nothing like that round here . . . . . . . .

Tony.
That was bad enough on your rally stage Tony, but the one that mint led us on through a large farm yard was in another league,it was as though it had rained cow poop
for a week :yuck:. Never seen so much of the stuff outside of a cow field =)).
It was a really good day I'll remember though :).

Had a full day today on @Bozzy P&J, did more work on the chassis, cleared all the rust that I could and acid etch primed all exposed metal and finished with underseal, got the stone guard on the new sills and and flatted the bonnet ready for the booth tomorrow, had a bit of spare time so did the short one a bit of a favour,

This is what the aerosol was hiding Steve

And for the favour, your paintwork had lost its gloss and was covered in fine scratches, looks like it has been cleaned with a scouring pad at some point so just had to get the big boy on it.

@Sean d How long will rust proofing in this way last? - If the car were to be kept outside, could you expect to achieve another 10 rust free years?

I've got minimal amounts of rust on my sills and arches, you'd only notice it with a keen eye but it's not really getting any worse at the moment, do need to get it looked at soon. Someone quoted me £360 for the bonnet (the dent on it), the rear quarter, both sills and the front bumper (stone chipped to death). I'm mainly worried about the colour match hence why I've not given it to anyone yet.

Top work fella. The short one is going to lurve you! And going the extra mile for him....this forum never ceases to amaze me honestly.

That sounds a bit too cheap to be honest mate, rust will always come back, there is NO way to cure it, all we can do is slow it down.

@Sean d It did sound cheap and the place looked like sh*t, no way I was leaving my zed there. They did bodywork and sold tyres. =)) Bloke also said that for £60 he'll get me an MOT pass with no advisories. It was one of those places...

Class job you're doing there Sean mate. I seem to remember a tube of Farecla G3 in my filing cabinet from my Eunos days, having said that does it "age" well ? it could be 7-8 years old! I maybe ought to get my big grinder out.

Tony.

There is a new formula now mate, it doesn't have any fillers and is water based, it breaks down as its used and finishes with a high gloss and no swirl marks whatsoever, I even use it on black with startling results, no wax or polish needed at all.

Thank you for that pearl of wisdom mate. Appreciated!:)

I think you may find that's not quite what he meant Steve, but I do like the idea!!

Oh, well it'll be a pleasure to give it a coat or two of wax after washing off the road grime from the journey home :).

Wow :D:D.
You have been busy again :wideyed:.
Thanks so much for sorting the mirror case mate .
Didn't expect a complete polish Sean, can't thank you enough :D.

Steve
Your welcome pal, it was screaming out for it :)

I knew the boot lid had some scratches on it and the off side door had marks along it from the garage I used to use.
You're a diamond :).
