Suspension advice

@Poprin
I'm not sure if all 3.0l have sports suspension, but this may help to determine if you have or not.

In the pic below it shows they are definitely for Z3's and Z4's.
Funny that after the seller told me by email they're not for a Z

Got mine too @Bozzy.

I put the part no., for the rears into Realoem and they do fit most Z3's...........apart from mine.:arghh:

Top mounts Dino.
I'd doubt they won't fit. Could just be a mistake on Realoem.
Doesn't seem to make sense to have a different body shell for just one engine variant?

The only other thing could be if the shock has different size bolt the top- I know some aftermarket have 12mm and standard is 10mm (could be other way around).

That's good to know .
I'm going to start looking for those rear top mount reinforcement plates you mentioned before.

I've ordered these ones with an angled inner edge, supposed to fit better. Made by Bimmertune which is big in the US I think.
I read to get it make some paper gaskets for them is a good idea for isolation of metal to metal contact. Easy to retrofit.

Thanks for the link Dino, just ordered a set .

@Eddie Zedder took a little longer than planned but have measured up my 3.0 and I can dispel the myth that all 3.0's have sport suspension. My ride height measurements are consistent with standard suspension. My car is an early 3.0 before they actually had a sport (2000). It's been specced with all the bits but it would appear not the springs.

If anyone happens to know the part numbers of the factory fit sports suspension I would be very interested!

Also the front measurements in that book appear a bit out of whack for the 17inch wheels. I measured mine at 670mm on the front.

Nice one Poprin. Glad you have sorted it once and for all.

Was that measurement with it unloaded? If it was I would be happy, mine has 16" wheels and was 660mm on one side and 645mm on the other, it should be 660mm loaded.

C'mon @Bozzy, get your finger out, I've done mine! =))
