Not responding in what sense? From code reader? Are you plugged in under bonnet? No read from dash connector - engine only.
I'm using the 20 pin under the bonnet. When I select read air bag codes it just says no connection etc.
Of course there is the possibility that Captain special took a set of chops to it.

Could also be just a bad contact, try using some electrical contact cleaner spray on the 20 pin socket.

Tony.

Will do.

Finding a new module and coding looks a real head ache.

What info is needed to find the correct one?

I'm assuming it's a center console out job just after I refitted it?

You can just sneak your hand under if you remove the screws on the passenger side. And look through the gear-lever gaiter hole. But it’s not ideal and tends to bend out the wing of the console a little.

Ideally the module needs coding to the car. But if you’re lucky you’ll get one with an identical config. If not the module may throw errors. Eg donor module has side air bags coded. But can’t see them on your car. Piece of software called NCS Expert required or NCS Dummy. Expert is the original software - bit hard to follow. Dummy is a wrapper for it that simplifies it. Free downloads out there.

There are various different modules. Get the correct one obviously. But multiple part numbers/revisions are useable. Realoem is your friend here to check.

Btw modules do go bad but it might be something else fooling you, eg what Tony said. Whereabouts are you btw. If you’re anywhere near me it would be worth putting my BMW Scanner v1.4 on. That gives a deeper dive than a hand tool anyway. I’m Swindon & Swansea.

Some have had success (me included on my coupe) with just swapping the airbag ecu over - no coding required, just the airbag code reset.

It’s under the radio on the gearbox tunnel area.

Much easier with the centre console out, but with a bit of determination you can fit by pulling the passenger side panels up. A lot of faff and in the long run probably not faster

I have a few, what part number do you need?

I finally wrestled it out. Not the easiest of jobs, for some reason the center console would come loose but not off. It was enough space to get behind the passenger corner. Found a wire that had been disconnected but have no idea what it's for, it was stuffed down the back.

Can't think what that's for at the moment but it's not for the airbag.

That's the older version of the module in mine currently in bits in the garage. definitely only the one multi-wire connector to it.

If you look here you'll see the different part numbers you can look for. Mine is the newer 6910677 but yours and mine by way of example are interchangeable.

I'll post a picture for you of mine but it won't really help other than to show you that connector isn't used.

I get the feeling it isn't SRS/airbag related but what 🤔

Out of interest where on original OEM are the airbag modules. For the life of me I can't find them.
Not under airbag like I would expect.

Not sure what you’re looking for/asking?

I can find it if I search the part number from the module but not under any of the categories like electrical or airbag.

Found a module on eBay from Germany with the same part number or one from Lithuania. Is it worth the punt?

My experience is these facelift modules can be a little hard to find. So ordering from abroad may be your best bet. Just check out their feedback carefully. I think many of these guys in Lithuania are genuine BMW specialists.
