That's good to know Geoff. I'm sort of hoping they decide to fit stents so I don't have to use the spray. They reckon it gives you a new lease of life?
Yes it does providing you take all the tablets as prescribed i am not surposed to do things like painting a ceiling ie: putting arms above head

Do not worry about an angiogram or having stents fitted as it is pretty much painless and they do not even give you a general anaesthetic. I had both procedures over 10 years ago and I am still managing to stay topside! When they were fitting my stent the doctor asked if I wanted to see what he was doing so seeing as how I had nothing better to do at the time I said yes. The nurse turned an overhead monitor around so that I could see what the camera could see as it made its way up my artery, then it stopped just before the valve and I could see the flaps open and close before the doctor pulled it back to the narrowed part and the business part began. Not painful but bloody interesting. Should they ask you if you would prefer them to go in via the wrist or the groin I had both and I found that entry via the wrist was the least unpleasant. The unlucky nurse has to apply an awful lot of pressure after the procedure over the entry wound for quite a long time to prevent bleeding, this is slightly painful for you and very tiring for the nurse but you do get to exchange life stories.
I was in haulage most of my life either behind the wheel or owning and running the job, neither is as easy as each side assumes it to be. Transport is stressfull and customer focussed with a lot of pressure on drivers and office staff alike, you can do the job perfect week after week without a word from anyone, slip up once and nobody forgets! My advice would be to take this opportunity to get out completely.
Sorry for the long essay but this has brought back half buried memories for me, good luck and speedy resolution to the angina.
Tony.

I have let some close forum friends aware I've been diagnosed with a bit of a health issue recently. I wasn't going to open it up to discussion but sitting here on my jollies thinking and I feel It would maybe help others.
I have been having abdominal/chest pains for the last couple of months along with bouts of breathlessness. I put it down to indigestion issues from a previous medical procedure I had 3 years ago.
Unfortunately last week I had to have an ambulance out to get me sorted after suffering what felt like a heart attack, very constricted chest and awful pain. The only way they could get the pain to subside was by giving me a GTN spray to open up the arteries.
I've been rushed through the system and had various tests and have now been diagnosed with Angina.
This isn't a death sentence thank God but can lead to heart attacks and strokes if not dealt with so looks like a warning to get things sorted. I'm now waiting for further tests to see if I require stents fitting to sort it out. I now have to carry my GTN spray with me everywhere and have already had to use it twice so it's doing it's job.
I appriciate some of you guys on here are really going through it with certain illnesses at the moment but decided to flag this up incase anyone else is suffering similar symptoms. Don't leave it to chance, please to get yourself checked.

Stay well gezzers :)
Grumps.
yes you are right to flag this up i had mutch the same problem putting up with intermittent pain for months ( it will go away if i ignore it ) after having a big one called ambulance they knew all about it all blokes put their head in the sand upshot is stent fitted 4 days hospt 30 min in surgery statin & aspirin to take.proper diet..great job never felt better the only worry is put the stent in through wrist thats 0k or through groin not ok dont think id like sharp objects down there

Sorry to hear this Dave, only just seen it after two days travelling home. Now that you know the problem hopefully it can be managed and not stop you living life to the full. I was taken to hospital with similar symptoms last November , was kept in for a day and night, but after all the tests they concluded that I probably had a skeletal/muscle problem in the chest.Best wishes for a speedy recovery mate.

@Grumps - just a note to wish you well in the recovery process of the illness you have been diagnosed - my Mum lived to 89 and had angina for many years - having said that none of us know what is ahead of us health wise - hopefully all will go well for you - best wishes and also future success with house move and potential career change.

David.

When I went in in 2015 the firm I worked for we're shockingly bad. My boss this time has been fantastic. "Go away and forget everything, you will be paid and there is a job in the office for you when your ready" Can't say fairer than that.
Tell them straight Tony, do not struggle and end up face down mate. State your case!

If you can - take an oversight role of what is in the pipeline - easier said than done though.

What a terrible weak machine we are Dave...it's good that you got the right "diagnose" and the medicine. Finger crossed for the treatment! One thing is certain: after these issues, you'll always see and feel life better and in every moment...
Thank you for sharing with us, maybe we'll learn something!
Be careful and wish you all the best!

No Dave isn't, but we are in this stage for 30 years now...so we like to say that everything is OK as long as we still are on the floating line with the health and we can enjoy the small pleasures of life...
Take care and wish you a good weekend Dave!
