Write Up Silverstone Classic 2014 Zedfest

Very very hot day almost unbearable at time must have been 30+ degrees today. Despite that yet another cracking day with plenty of zeds Turning up and the z3's by far the most single model there. Didn't stop for the parade lap as it was going to be gone 7 before they were allowing you on track and today's heat had took its toll so retreated to the hotel for some recovery time.

More pics here showing what you missed.

Too hot for me, no wonder you missed the parade lap,

Excellent day I bet.

Parade lap was fantastic...clouds rolled in...even got a few squirts on the loud peddle ..beaming smiles everywhere....brilliant!!!!
Awesome. So pleased it went ahead after last year and the rain!

Just home after a thoroughly enjoyable few days, It was great to put names to faces although I am terrible with names and have probably forgotten most by now :).

When going in to Silverstone a single Ferrari passed us and did look stunning, my Son Luke (a big Ferrari fan) was in awe of it so can you image what he was like when we got to walk through the Ferrari section! His cheek bones hurt from all the smiling :)

Thanks to everyone who came along to say hello, it is great to be welcomed by such a friendly bunch.

Sometimes it pays to have a different coloured car, they are easy to spot from afar.

Just arrived home from the weekend at Silverstone looking like a lobster......what a fantastic weekend with lovely people.......was great meeting you all......so glad we stayed today or we wouldnt of met Mike Brewer or been up close and personal watching Murray Walker being interviewed :) look forward to seeing you all again :)

Great pics everyone. Glad you all had a fantastic weekend, looks like you had a lot more room this year, shame about the lack of the air conditioned BMW hospitality lounge though, it was a godsend in the heat last year.
Mike & Sandy

Haha you got the same legs as me Miller I lashed myself with sun cream all over except my legs doh!

Good pics all, thanks for posting. I Don't think you're the only one sun burnt Miller...;)

Necks still red raw... How old am I and still don't think!

Nice to meet a few of you. Didn't get to meet all that were there though. When you see a field full of Zeds it's difficult to recognise cars, but those I met were super people.

I came away promising to do it all again next year.

I haven't always been a big fan of BMW CC GB, but that was well put together and thoroughly well organised. I tip my hat to them.

:)

Many of the Z3 owners may have left before the afternoon session for pre-'66 F1 cars. Just read that Denis Welch who was involved intje accident duriny tue Fi st couple of laps died if his injuries in the medical centre. A sad end to an otherwise enjoyable event.

OMG very sad indeed RIP

We were sitting in the village grandstand which overlooks the corners where the accident happened. We knew it looked bad but still shocked that it was so bad.
