S50 progress thread..

no....there for something else ;)

edit..just had a call from the indi and one of the calipers could do with replacing....so that's being done as well.

Love the number plate swamper and the car is looking great. Well done mate ;)

cheers paul....just trying so get hold of some new disks for tomorrow...might as well put some on at the same time to save on the labour charge ;)

no....i just have a very understanding missus :))

edit just got some new front disks ...so there going on in the morning.....and have some bluestuff to try out for the rear's ;)

It'll soon be a new car with all this dosh your spending ;)

Well done for keeping your M in top nick with top mods :ymapplause:

ok yellowstuff on the fronts with new front disks....and a new caliper for good measure............just spent a couple of hours out while the roads were quite......at first i had to tiptoe about as they felt really weak.....very unnerving :-s
after a while i started to run some heat through them and they got a bit better........but then i give the brake a good stamp at about 50mph......it nearly pulled my bloody face off :-o
iv ran some progressive braking through them and some normal driving conditions and although there not beaded in yet im very impressed. ;)
combined with the avon's they feel like the could stop a train.
thanks to everyone for there input ;)

the bluestuff are sat here.....so im going to pick a day to try them out.....its no big deal if i dont get on with them i will just stick yellows on the rear

Another thumbs up from me on the plate looks really good! Sounds like you need a kers motor now to absorb that braking energy :p
I had a seized caliper on my 2.8 (M might not be in the same boat) and for how much they are new its not worth messing about with.

i couldn't agree more Daz....£106 fitted for a new one....why mess about....it get run hard it needs to be right ;)
kers............mmmmm :-? :))

track prep continues....bluestuff fitted to the rears ...

What date is Santa Pod next year now............vrooooooooommm... :steer2) your not gonna put it to bed for the winter now though are you!! :inbed

ho no no no..............its going to oulton park at the start of next month @-)

so the initial reaction to the bluestuff is that there OK from cold but not the the best...BUT as soon as any heat is put into them they turn on and i mean any heat..one little dab and there their.
iv just spent an hour trying to bed them in but i reckon theres still a lot more to come out of them....got a bit of a squeak on near side at low braking speed yet but that should soon pass.
would i keep them on all the time for the road....no..but going to the track they would be excellent with a set of the same up front.

tracking done today....you should have seen them all coo over the ///M :ymdaydream:

just reading into it......i dont know :-\

it was new thats all i know..

The wheel alignment kit is Hunter equipment and is really good. it can check all modes and gives you readings as it's being adjusted. Lots of the manufacturers and tyre manufacturers use it to set cars up for tyre testing.
