yeah Tony...the work thats needed is beyond my capabilities ..it needs the drivers side front sanding down underneath where its been repaired....its not a big job but rather critical to get a good seal.....its going in anyway so they can prep it ready for paint...so rather than me ruin it i might as well let the pros do it.
iv not used this guy before..but he restores classics in the same place as i have my unit and iv kept an eye on his work...and its to a very high standard..so fingers crossed it should be good

That's good mate. I'm a big believer in horses for courses. Look forward to seeing the finished article.:)

Swamper, did you have to go out looking for all the parts, fitting kit etc?
Is this bloke who is going to be working on your lid good with fiberglass?
I think I recognize that lid, did you get off a forum member from the other lot?

Yep HT iv managed to get all the parts grom all over the place..and yep the hardtop came from a form a forum member...the guy who's going to be doing the work is a class act...iv seen the stuff going into the Unit and it comes out like new.

Moz the car is only going to be one colour..blue !! Haha.

Brian iv always liked the look of them...iv worked out how much it costs to bring this upto scratch and it works out cheaper than buying one and having it respayed ...

All in all its been a mission ...but keeps me out of trouble..!!!

Hey swamper, you fancy sticking up a 'how I did it' post as there are a few on here having problems getting their lids to fit properly.

You must tell me how it keeps you out of trouble. When I do those things it just gets me in trouble with the old woman that lives here. JIM

Zed iv give up for the time being.....the money is going into the hardtop.. full set of boots for the road stars ....air con needs a new seal and a service 1 is due in the next thousand miles.
other things on the list is to have the rear sub frame bushes replaced with solid ones... H&R ARBs...braided brake hoses...yellow stuff for the rears (currently on blue stuff)..finish of the cruise control (might just sack that tho) ..new air filter ......and get a second job to pay for it all..!!
