Now I've read the thread I think you guys are right with the Co2 sensor. My dads 2.8 had the same issue a few years back, once replaced the readings where much better because the Ecu then knew what adjustments to make.
Sounds the best place to start - we're chasing rainbows on the oil until that's eliminated. A set of new plugs too maybe. Give it plenty of time to be hot before doing the emissions test. I've noticed the guy who does my MOTs doesn't do the emissions until about 20 mins into the test with the engine running right from the start.

My first thought was the sensor misreading and telling the ecu to dump more fuel in. Airflow seemed to behave as expected and the lambda was in spec at test.
For the cost of the sensor it's a good place to start.

It is due oil and filter now Ian but had everything including plugs all filters, all fluids etc last service. It was plenty hot enough, I'd just done 40 odd miles to get to Tonys.

But this was June wer're talking about =))
Change the sensor is the common thread - see if that fixes it. Do you have a local Indy that would just do an emissions check for £10-£15 before you put it in for MOT again?

It's in for test Wednesday with my local garage. He'd put me a sensor on for nowt while it's over the ramp.I'll get one and give it him when I drop the car off.

most garages around here will give it an mot without actually giving you one, like test the car off the record and see what it brings up, then if ok the test is done proper. (it still costs though) but if you still have a couple of weeks left on your old mot it wont void it (unless its seriously dangerous).

Update to come shortly. He's gone to the garage for test! :nailbiting:. My mate is picking him up as I'm at Jacks Graduation day at Manchester Uni.

Great Dave, but what about the low oil temp?
Is it Reggie a super cooled engine?
In this case you should buy another Zed for the regular trips and keep Reggie only for the track days!
