Once your brakes are bedded and finally bled you will feel the benefit of the braided hoses I'm sure.

Day 5 Hardtop had to come off to get the rear suspension done and i was waiting for the posty to bring me some poly bushes for the rear anti roll bar.
Set about getting the hardtop removed used my winch and support i made and it came off effortlessly so happy as.
Set about the rear struts, i undid the insides and jacked the car up , i found they could be replaced with ease without even removing the wheels.
The old Mehle top mounts are perfect to be honest as are the Sach dampers so if anyone needs some i'll pop and ad up they look like new.
Just on cue the posty comes alittle later than normal and was thinking he was not going to come but he did.
Rear anti roll bar put back new drop links and poly bushes fitted.
I then jacked the car up and removed all the wheels and bleed the brakes again they seem ok re adjusted the handbrake shoes so i need alittle slack out the cables now and i will be good to go.
Roof off finished and wanting a test drive soo i set off out a quick stop for fuel as i ran it very low for weight during the job.
Brimmed off with Premium and went and had a drive .
What a difference!! its like a new car no noise no creaks or knock, very very queit, suspension feels as any new car.
The zed feels like its just striaghter almost as if it now pushes for the rear rather than it dragging from the front. It sits very flat and feels more planted all most predictable at every turn the power deliver feels more sucure and gives confidence and it is more precise in its steering. The brakes all work well no diving or pulling going on and sharp when needed.
Been worth it ? ........... Hell yeah its taken me around 40 hours start to finish, the job of a beam you could do in and out in a day, i just opted to rebuilt everything whilst i was in there so the job was lengthened.
A few more pics, i only have the spare to refit and have all new hardware so no issues just some paint and its all good.
New suspension to all corners

New anti roll bar poly's and new drop links.

Now to say spring and and spring pads are the same before and after ride height is vastly different one hell if a lot of sag!!

Before arch on tire.

You can see the wheel is tucked in to as the camber was large.
The new ride hight is plus 30mm :wideyed::wideyed: and the wheel now fills the arch as the camber bushes have pushed it outwards.

It may stay this way or i may half the gap will see if it settles any more in the coming days.

Gave it a dam good wash and tucked it up ;)

Hardtop hanging above :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Been a job well worth the effort along with the M54b30 manifold its become quite an animal oddels of mid range torque and lots of smiles as its truely a pleasure to drive :D

Great job I have this to look forward to. Nice finish on the rear beam did you have it powder coated? I might have got a lucky break as well as one of the local farmers has a place with a two point lift in for £50 or so quid a week one of my other farmer mates informed.

That lift would certainly make the job easier Mark. Ant did get the beam powder coated.

As Tony said i did get the beam powder coated i did this first i thought getting another beam sorted and the bushes replaced prior to the job made sense then it was a swap rather than having to run around getting it sorted mid job

Im sure your right I can dial the height in with spring pads so i may do that but i think it will settle abit more. The car feels great on the road i supppse its like it would have been new. It has removed every noise its ever made its been worth while.

Its the biggest single job on a zed when you think about it it is half the car removed as you say a great sense of achievement when complete

Camber adjustment bushes are from Revshift (via hack engineering) or Powerflex

Both Ant and I have the Revshift bushes.
