I like the look so will likely avoid the problem of sewing the originals in and just simply dye the centres of the new ones. Then I can just do the doors to match. Thanks, JIM
Yep that's what I'm doing Jim with the centre sections and the door cards. The bolsters are going back to original colour to allow the centres to stand out a bit more.

Just caught up with your problems @Grumpy. Looks like you've got it sorted now. Reggie is going to look great:thumbsup:it'll well worth the effort.

OK, Jue decided to go on a horse ride this morning so thought i'd do some more on the interior.
20160502_093410.jpg

Masked the drivers seat off ready to apply the darker colour to the bolsters.

Removed the door handle trim and masked off ready.

First coat on.

3 coats and it's covered fine. I may have a go at a steady hand approach on the other door card as some of the dye got behind the masking tape so then became a bit of a clean up operation. Small amount of repair required to the edge in places but overall happy with the finish.

I am doing mine when the zed comes back from the sprayers. Got mine from Furniture Clinic. I was a bit daunted doing this but if Grumpy can do it i am sure Kim can =)) Honestly though a good job has been done by everyone who has attempted this

Your a cheeky git lol! But your right mate I'm not the best although I love to have a go. I like everything done yesterday so if I slow myself down and think what I'm doing I'm usually OK.

Masking tape isn't the best I've now moved on to the more expensive Frog Tape but it's worth it I've found.

That's the best time to do these sort of jobs, when everyone has gone out doing there own thing, then you have peace and quiet and no pressure from interruptions.
You're doing a grand job there Dave, making a big difference to the look of the interior .

Thanks mate. Totally agree Steve. Just done a couple of hours and ran out of dye now anyway so ordering enough of both colours to finish the job, reading on it takes a few days to arrive so probably be Saturday before I'll be doing anymore but Reggies off the road with the cooling fan anyway so there's no rush to get it done.

Looking good mate i found that masking was ok but more finicky than worth it.If your steady and again the edges and joints i found it easier to apply with a fine artist bush and then dab any access out with a sponge. The bubbling issue can be minimised if you gon't over apply the dye to the sponge it kinda wants to be damp with it not wet as its the squidging out of the sponge that creates the bubbles.
Looks like its going well though mate the more you do the easier it gets and by the time your finishing you will have the application refined and down to an art

Yeah fine Tony thanks. It's very time consuming but I'm enjoying it. With the car being off the road I don't feel in a rush to get it done. I think it was running normally I'd be chomping at the bit to get and in the sunshine. Hope your enjoying your holidays mate.
