@t-tony, does the airflow sensor adjust the mix accordingly as I assume that the new filter will allow more airflow.

Mega fail today, we ended up going over to Gaz's in Shirl's Eos so haven't got to road test the induction. Sounds very nice stationary when you press the loud pedal, will have to wait till tomorrow now.
@MAURICE THE MARTIAN this is a Ramair Universal induction with 90mm OD, I bought it on Black Friday on Best Offer, I offered £10 less than asking price and got it for that. The silicon connector was £7.00 and came with the Jubilee clips.

I paid £47 for the filter and sleeve mate and the MAF dia. is 90mm. Not sure how the Aussie dollar compares? That filter has a blank end and takes air from the sides so would get warmer air I think, mine gets direct feed from the cold air inlet straight into the front end of the filter.HTH.

Had some time today so decided to fit the Induction kit, the wife got me one for an E36 but its way to small, my MAF is 80mm but the new filter is only 65mm, I could have messed about with varying bits of pipe and hose clips but decided to return it and get one the right size.

That's a shame mate but easy enough to get it changed, just means a delay.:( But you don't want to be reducing the intake dia. or it'll defeat the object.

Not really how air works. Unless you have a sealed box and direct feed. All the open ended ones give you is slightly more surface area, you are still drawing most of the air in from the sides

I agree you are still getting some from round the side Tim, but with open end right against the cold air feed it will be getting a fair amount forced straight into the "filter" , there's no way it can't be.

I can see 5harp3y's point.
Imho the filter needs to be in a fully enclosed box to get the full effect.
As i said earlier i have the standard box/filter but i have blocked the drain hole in the base of the box so my airbox is completly sealed and have fitted an airscoop to try and force more air in .

I finally have got round to uploading a bit of video showing the growl from my induction when you push the car on a bit. Will get more when I can get the roof down one day as you can hear it better. But here goes,

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClCCB0VN8Js&feature=youtu.be

At 30 sec. you will see me being a good boy pulling over to answer my phone (and avoiding some large deep water filled pot holes!) and at 2.30 leaving the lights you get a taste of the sound it makes.

Hi mate, were those covers on the strut tops a standard fitment on your car, mine doesn't have them? Had an idea for some under bonnet bling too. Will post up some pics when I get it done, just need some warmer weather.
