Looking good Tony and sounds like it sounds good too:thumbsup:. Is there a real performance increase or is it more in the mind:whistle:
As we were only saying in the garage 2 weeks ago mate sometimes it's all in the mind and though I still hold true to that I think there's a percentage of actual improvement too. Still need a strut brace though . . . . . . . ;)

Blimey Tony, was it only 2 weeks ago:whistle: as you say there may be an improvement, you'll have to see how the fuel consumption compares;). Strut brace for show….. :whistle:certainly for road use, ;)

I think so Steve, easy to fit just needs a bit of blacksmith's skills and enginuity.

Hi Sean, I'm sorry mate I don't but my old 2.0 one went on Grumpy's car so I guess a 2.8 has the same o/d as your car mate. Maybe he or the tall man could get you the measurement off their car. I'm guessing 70mm but could be wrong.

Think the 2.8 is different to the 2.0 if i remember the 2.8 is 78mm as my Simota needed an 80 to 90mm hose as the filter was from an 3.0 and they are 90mm as your's is.
A quick search shows the 2.5 and 2.8 to be the same but the 2.0 does not list as the same part.

Twisted and bent to the correct angle then degreased and painted and baked at 100 deg. in the paint oven.(Don't tell Shirl).

Tony.

May be there are some differences out there Ant, Grumpy has my old 2.0 intake on his. Would be interesting to know mate. Was your Simota off a Z3 or a Z4? I have looked for one for a Z4 with no luck.

Mine isn't a ramair one but I swapped this over from my 2.0 to 2.8 without any problems, the MAF is the same size. There might be some differences between the 2.8 pre and post facelift but a facelift one should fit your 2.0. You may just need a hose that reduces the size which will then fit to the MAF.

Yep Tonys fitted mine with no issues but I'm sure one could be fitted with a little adaption Sean. I'm really fancying a Simota after seeing Ants. Need to start saving once the paint is sorted.
