So there we have it chaps, the limp mode and miss fire is an E36 ECU feature and replacing the camshaft sensor sorted the problem. We had just the core team yesterday me and Gaz, we always seem to do more work in a day just us.
First thing to do was change the gear linkage over as it turns out they are different in lengths and shape between models quick drop of the prop and exhaust and we had access.
While I was under the car Gaz was rebuilding the front bits and swapping the belt tensioner. We also fitted the brakes kindly sent by Brian, they look amazing. Me and Gaz both took the zed for a drive and found the clutch the most amazing change, so light and crisp, you can also really feel the lightness of the flywheel it just wants to Rev!
So now it's just some basic snags: Wiring between Fan and loom needs soldering as the connections are different but wires are the same.
Exhaust support bracket
Spray and fit Z3M Bumper
Solder the Aircon wires
Undertray & Engine covers
Other than that she's now drivable and ready for the open road again. Watch this space.
