I think we might of found our first issue to combat, the DSC system on this zed is a much newer traction and stability control system and was never designed to work with the M52 engine, all the M52 engines had the ASC or ASC+ which only cuts throttle.

Watch this space.

Ripping out stuff is my specialty.....

...but if you are asking how to surgically remove it so that you have no lights on and the ECU doesn’t get upset then definitely not!

All I know is the DSC is far more involved than the ASC as it takes on all 4 brakes and throttle (it did on the e46) and you have a yaw sensor as well in the footwell..

Google says it’s abit complicated:http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/archive/index.php/t-469006.html
If you don’t want the light on all the time..

Don't forget to look into the requirements for MOT regarding "original fitment" unless you have a "tame" tester.

Tony.

Would it not be possible to put the later m54 throttle body on the car , program the ECU and then run the car an DSC?

Yeah It's possible, Just switch over the engine loom and get the correct ECU. I've been told today because it's an Independent system it should run ok. Will need to have a look at it's wiring and make sure we haven't disturbed anything.

Just a small update, I ended up flying offshore for a week so missed a weekend playing. Just after I got back me and Gaz decided to make it look like a car again and start the finishing touches. She runs a tick over very smoothly but still cuts into a limp mode above 2k and you can smell fuel. The codes are pointing towards a camshaft sensor so will try that first this weekend. Failing that I'll start looking at the loom itself.

In the meantime I went spending again to give this zed a real mean look :D I took delivery of some very large brakes from @brainH and picked up a Z3M front bumper from a friend of Martin.

Both zed ticking over quite nicley last weekend.

Extra braking a good idea Lee and the ///M bumpers do look very nice. Hope a cam sensor fixes the running problem mate.

Tony.
