Well it all started with my old M. Might end up going back to another M if I kill this engine. Or I’ll just bite the bullet and buy a crate motor.

@Sean d it’s not that bad. Just take your time and think things through. What’s becoming more clear is how many engine bits and systems share parts. Weather they have the same part number or not they do the right function.

Food for thought! If you have the TU engine it’s almost a straight swap.

Have you used wingnuts?
they are easier to undo..... just sayin';)
haha! tell me about it, the first time I pulled the engine I made a point of making things quick release and using all new bolts. Think that's why it's so much easier this time round.

Right, only a small update. She made it to Vanity was a very last minute rush to get things sorted.

Funny turn of events fixing the clutch, the pedal felt solid as though the master or slave had given up. Turnt out to be some nugget 'Me' fitting the clutch plate the wrong way round.

So she runs and pulls well, albeit using far to much fuel in the process. I only got 160miles from a whole tank. Correct M54 parts on route along with ECU to make things more stable. I'm suprised she runs at all really with the 2.8 ECU running the 3.0 block.

Would the ecu that was in place for the 2.2 run the 3.0 Lee?

Or did that get binned when you went to the 2.8?

Interrupting the interesting thread

Do we tell people it took 40mins to remove the gearbox. :D
Probably best not to, they'll all want their gearboxes taken out... :bag:

I've got quite a pile of ECU's building up. I'm running the 2.8TU ECU at the moment. Not sure if it would run with the 2.2 or not, so many people offer exchange services it's relativly cheap to get the right setup.
