How much was that ramp BTW? Looks like a sturdy piece of kit!
 
I met the men behind the shed! (ahahah!) very nice to meet the bang, pretty cool selection of cars all around, pretty cool organisation of the work there (given the space!) and quite a good chat about all kind of things. I personally didn't do anything, apart from moving a chassis. I otherwise was trying to be out of the way!

That ramp is a nice bit of kit going to save you guys a whole lot of time and effort when doing some of the more major jobs.
 
So, hold on, where the hell are the pics of the car back on the road? :-)

I don't think that car exists, it's all been photoshopped in really. After a week, you'd THINK someone would have taken a picture of it, woudln;'t you?

Mr. Vanos is working his magic on the Imola this evening, cams have been out, re-shimmed and de-rattled new vanos unit to be fitted, so quieter and more horses :)

What is that 'rattle' you mention? I have a clicking noise at some (low) RPMs I've been wondering about... When I see that chain there I'm wondering if it could be that sort of noise...
 
The Vanos on the S50 wears the shims on the timing chain cogs and develops more of a growl than a rattle, thats what I was referring to, not sure what a rattle could be, but I was told the idle valve can rattle at lower revs?? dont know that for sure though just something I was told.
 
They don't look so nice when they're stripped down :eek:

Full respray, the paints in good order but at some time the bonnet, mirrors and front bumper have been resprayed I'm assuming for stone chips and the match isn't great. so as she is a long term car (hopefully) and most everything else has been done I thought she deserved to look her best.
