Oh. Dragon flies. I've got a couple of those. Here's one doing the alien thing. Popping out of his under water skin

Spends a year, maybe more, under water then climbs up a stem and anchors himself then slides out the back doing a back flip till he comes round and grabs his old skin

and sits there a while pumping up his wings. Once wings are pumped up he flies to a nearby bush to bask in the sun drying his wings.

How my wife managed to spot it in the first place is astounding. at extreme reach with the P1000, and it knew she was there...

If you can't take photos of extraordinary animals,
Take photos of common animals doing extraordinary things.

Hare eating a Yarrow flower.

Take at 80 meters, Nikon D750, 200 to 500 lens and 1.4x teleconverter.

The D750 is a nice camera, good choice. I think the 1.4 TC is vignetting the shot a bit, I tried a 2x TC on the Z6 it was terrible cropping and loosing a few pixels was much better, so I didn't buy it.. But I might try a 1.4 because that is still a great picture.

The vignetting was added post processing to make the Hare pop. The x1.4 teleconverter does not have any vignetting on the full frame view.

Ah OK, I know the 2x does vignette with a full frame.. All the more reason for me to look at at a 1.4, thanks for that....

More to come....

So, having been away for a week, Here is a picture I took. And its what happens when you fall asleep in your camp chair at 1.00 am and wake up with the roosters leaving your camera running. The gear tracked the sky beautifully whilst I was stacking Zs.. I do some of my best work with my eyes shut, quite clearly..
