Just got back from Dark skies, thought I might share this one, It is Eta Carina just a bit off center so the globular cluster is visible lower right, that on a clear night call barely be seen as a faint star.. 129 images at 60 seconds each , stacked...

The sky was jumping around all over the place for first half of the run, de-focusing the ASI 120 mini guide helped a bit, just something I read and it seems to work. Much better than what I normally get living on a beach in FNQ
... Bags of fun, I wonder why I ever gave this up for a decade or so... In my own defense I was well on the way before I started the run, and legless by the time I had had enough, I had already fallen out my of camp chair twice..
. Still missing a couple of lens caps, no clue what happened to those, probably ended up in the camp fire, It wouldn't be the first time..

Question: If or when a star obliterates/self destroys itself for whatever reason, does it create a blinding flash that could/has been seen?

Yes, Another example is what is now called the Crab nebular in Taurus, Its 6500 Light years away thats roughly 614950000000000000 kms
It blew up in 1054 and was visible to the unaided eye during the day for 2 years..

M3 or M13?
M3 that one, I think...I always get the two confused, M13 would have a little galaxy in the image...Ill double check though next time I have the ASIAR plugged in..

Edit, yes M3, or as my system labelled it, NGC5272. Same same..;)

Brilliant @ExMX5owner. I'm itching to get more pics done with the S50 but being hampered by summer at the minute . Following the latest updates for the Seestar you can now mount it for EQ mode use and take images of up to 60 seconds.
