Rebody Oh no. It's not another 507 Rebody. Oh yes it is!

Yep..wood....my mate takes the p*** out of me. Kiln dried treated and then covered with layers of fibreglass and sealed. Will then flow coat it. Just want to know that there's a decent fixing for securing the grill surround.

Everyone will do their car differently and have different views on how they want to do their build 😀

After much thinking I've decided that bulge is way too high but the position is OK. I think I'm going to leave the bulge where it is but chop a big wedge out of the front and sides and lower it so it's just around 1cm or so high. Height will depend on what thin metal/chrome trim I find to put across the front of the bulge.

Mine is 25mm high at the front. I think any less might look odd. It's now set back 270mm

Volvo P1800 back lights arrived a couple days ago.

I think, at least on my kit, the mould marks for back lights are slightly wonky so using laser line to get them on straight. (Affer checking the body is on straight of course)

Mine were the same. I just used a dremil to adjust to eye. Too many variables (suspension off after being on stands, floor level, tyre pressures etc) to try and set it exactly. I'll make final adjustments if needed on refitting.

Also discovered a couple of days ago that the front valance and bumper were off using the original holes (flush with the front wing on the near side and an inch over on the off side).

I removed the bumper, put a couple of g clamps on the valance, removed the bolts
lowered tge clamshell and bumped the valance across till I had a half inch overhang on each side. Re drilled holes and secured valance.

Did the sane with the front bumper and all is good now. Just need to fill the old holes.

I've got the car on the lift on its jacking points. Extra 1cm lift cm of lift on the right to get the car level then check the new back end is level then the lights level. But you are right things are often better leveled by eye because sometimes stuff just looks wonkey even when its not.

I haven't noticed anything wrong with my front bumper/valance. I'll check that. When I get back from walking the dog this morning.
 
I've decided to cut around the front and sides of the bulge and push the whole thing down so it's just around 14mm high at the front. Maybe even a bit lower depending on the width of the trim I decide to use across the front of the bulge.

The herald trim. I'll look at one of those same as your's then another two. One either side across the front of the bulge. Would the length of that herald trim be enough so two of them would go across the front of the bulge?

I think you would need two bits.
Only the rear quarter has the pointed section and probably not long enough for everthing you want to do
 
Rear lights.

I've got these volvo P1800 lights made by Bastuck.

But I'm finding that the socket for the brake/tail light is too big.

and the bulb tilts and can pop out.

Can I ask - @Dxbolton - are you using the same lights? Bulb sits OK?
 
Sounds like you've got the wrong bulbs if they do that. Bulbs won't fall out if they are the right ones for the socket.

Bulb has both tail and brake. 21w/5w
It's a standard 15mm Are you saying I can get a fatter bulb? I could put the bulb in and slide a 3mm wire down the side of it it's that loose.

If its damaged you need to send it back where you got it from. You didn't say it wasn't round. There looks to be 3 pin slots too? According to the Internet it should take a 380 bulb. What number is on the bulb? It was a common thing to see someone had crammed the wrong bulb into a bulb holder at work. But you get "off set' pins these days with go in but don't fit. Were the bulbs supplied with the light units?
