Rebody Oh no. It's not another 507 Rebody. Oh yes it is!

I'm over Didcot way - not finished and on the road yet but getting there
Thanks for the offer, it turns out that there is another 507 being built less than 2 miles away from me !!! I may have to change my online name to "Padawan"

How did you find them?

thats cool idea. Check out what I pinned 🫠

Ok. Here we go.

The reason for doing this is because the lower section of the front shell, when raised, swings forward and would hit the wheel arch liner. Using a rubber liner would allow it to bend out of the way but I just liked the way the original z3 did it so decided to go back to that.

First chopped off the outer skin

Then cut off the inner skin

This leaves big hole under the shell that needs closing

just came in for a spot of lunch while the GRP goes off.

After lunch I'll do a bit of tidying up then turn my attention to the lower panel.

Back soon. .

So cool! You have the skill to manipulate GRP freely. I know how much thought you must have put into cutting the GRP on the inside.
And the advantage of this is that you can now attach the gills without any restrictions to their design.

As you probably already know, once your GRP is completely dry, there will be a difference between the red and blue colors. The red will probably bend inward as shown. That will probably happen in 10 days or so. It is best to adjust the external steps last.

It's supposed to be a replica of a 1950's SL gear knob. Looks pretty much identical to the 507's knob.

I might see if I can fit that in place of the Z3 knob. Just for fun.

I'm sure you're joking? This whole kit car thing is making something look like something else.
I joke about many things (it's hard to tell, that I will grant you), but not this.
So you are happy having a 'period' gearknob which indicates the wrong number of gears to make it authentic, but want to keep the Z3 interior, plastic mirrors and bumpers?
Sorry I just don't get that. But each to their own!

You kbow, everything and every action cannot be changed all at once. Even though no air flows through the Z3's air vents, I chose the 507's gills and crown. That's how my car was made. I love that nobe

Read my post. I said "Just for fun". It's meant to be fun. Tongue in cheek etc.

C'mon. Loosen up a bit. 🤣

My first car was an 1100 Allegro, I drove it into a hedge, it also transformed the car!!!! There was only minor damage to the hedge 😊 .. sorry off topic.

I'm in Wales. Maybe this would be better
