Yes I fitted a chamberlain unit to my mums garage door so it is fully motorised and the work well. Only trouble was if a car was parked close to it and you pressed the remote it would open and smash into the car. We had the remote in the house and as the garage is down the bottom you can't see what's parked infront so you have to double check before opening. That's better that yours finishes flush when open. The roller one goes straight up and down which will be great as if I need too I can park right against it. I still haven't had the car in there yet so once it's in I can see what room I have left.
Always makes me cringe when I watch that "Spec Savers" ad on TV. =)) BUT, one Saturday Shed day a mate called wanting me to fit a H/light bulb in his Picasso. I sent him off in my Zed to get him from under my feet and luckily I was standing just inside the garage door (next to the door switch) talking to someone who was working on a Z as the garage door started coming down. I spun round and hit the kill switch before the garage door got close to the Z3 boot lid. Apparently my mate thought the garage door remote was the remote to unlock my car which was parked round the front of the house, so he didn't see what had happened. He nearly died when I told him that nearly ruined someone's boot lid.

It might fall down when I remove that post @gookah put in the middle of the door frame though, I'm beginning to wonder why he put it there :nailbiting:
that post is to hold the slab down.

It has to stay there permanently...
The apex looks more finished with the diamond and the 2 cladding bits, prior to that the apex reminds me of one of those cats without ears.
though as you say, they are far too long at the moment you only need 50mm -75mm overhang

The door will be the same one as mine:

I subsequently fitted some photocells about 300mm up from the floor on the inside of the door frame, and if anything is in the way of them, or breaks the beam as it's closing, the door automatically returns to the top.

What, no pictures with the door on yet? ;)
Not yet, still waiting for delivery of it :(. There's a chance it may turn up end of next week, fingers crossed. Still have a few things to do on the outside, hopefully get these done in the next couple of days. But the roof is on, got that all tidied up and finished today. Pics to come in the next couple of days.

Not quite big enough for any sort of lift. Maybe we could wire the trolley jack into the mains somehow. Even better, Alexa raise the zed by 4 foot :hilarious:
....... and turn that bloody noise down ...... ;)

Few pictures of the roof, gone with tinted polycarbonate sheets. This means they let plenty of light in without the need to turn the lights on throughout the day. It does get warm in there though, especially with the temps being as high as they have been the last few days. Although being tinted it's not as hot as it would be if they were clear. They came as 3 big sheets which needed to be cut in half, then cut down to width for 3 panels each side leaving 6 sections in total.

First section in place

One half completed

All panels in place

And all secured down via the glazing bars that sit between the panels plus the additional fixing pins. Then the centre section was sealed up and cover with some half round guttering turned upside down, then held in place with some more fixing pins. The end caps on the guttering have since been trimmed back so they sit almost flush with the end caps that fix to the glazing bars that hold the sheets. And you may notice it's had some paint.

Next up was the electrics. I put my socket back boxes and some of the conduit in place ready for the wiring to go in. 3 doubles at the front (1 up high for the door power), 2 doubles each side, 4 doubles at the back and a single on the roof beam (for the hardtop hoist) should cover me for anything I may want to plug in 😵 Oh and a single outside on the rear.

A new 3 way consumer unit was fitted and connected into the armoured cable that was installed months ago and they are now all connected up and working. The wiring for the lights is in place and I have fitted 4 downlights outside which are connected up and working. It's now hammering down which is the first rain we've had since fitting the roof so I'll find out if it's leaking at all 😱

More pics to follow, unless it gets washed away...

Work bench at the back? That's going to be one lucky Zed !
Yes I'll build some sort of bench at the back, got plenty of timber left over to use for one and some shelves. Still unsure whether to go the whole width of the garage with one yet. Once I've got the car in I'll see what spare room I have.
