Didn't know you had your own private swimming pool?

I thought pits were frowned upon nowadays. Too great a risk of flammable liquid or gas build-up. That and forgetting you've taken the cover off. Ouch!
Great resource but to be used with great care.

When father in laws garage went up in flames a few days before we got married some of the firemen (because they were, then) went rushing in and went arse over end into an open pit. They received a major b*******ing for their troubles as they were/are trained to expect that in a garage.

The original HUD had started to lose pixels in the display so I have got another one, but this is how the box looked inside the plastic wrapping.

Another warranty job today. I fitted a 4 year warranty Yuasa battery well before I packed in working. It has been going flat on me and causing some problems.

This was supplied by Andrew Page (Lincoln) who were swallowed up by ECP but they're honouring long term warranties, such as batteries.
The replacement was an Exide though.

A few things I store around my battery. Extendable wheel Wrench, small torch, Snap-On seat cover, gloves and a couple of rags.

Oh, and the BMW tool kit.

Battery "conditioners" can some times bring a poorly battery back into good health if you have one mate.

A small replacement job this afternoon in-between the rain showers. The boot lid badge took off with the power washer on Wednesday, luckily I had one "in stock".

I stuck the old one back together and turned it into a cupboard ornament.

Next to ole Grump's drain tray.

I managed to get the switch to work permanently "On" which is fine as it's wired through the ignition. It looks like this, set up for speed and clock.

Been awaiting a couple of packages which finally landed today. I noticed lately that the wheel centre caps on both my Z4 and Shirl's car were looking worse for wear so I ordered a set for each.
20210708_132126.jpg

As usual when fitted into the wheel they were a slightly loose fit, so they got 2 laps of insulting tape before fitting.
20210708_144830.jpg

Both the VW and BMW ones.
20210708_151257.jpg

The old ones from my car will go in my Winter wheels, it's likely the road salt which damaged this set more than anything.
20210708_151610.jpg

Anyway both sets fitted with usual accuracy. ;)

nothing like a bit of insulting tape to do that.

I actually used a heat gun on the legs of the centre caps and bent them outwards a bit.
