Be interesting to hear you thoughts mate. Getting the inner seal layer parted is a messy job on these. I did one at work a couple of years ago.

Tony.
Built the drivers door back together today, before doing applied 3 strips of the waterproof building tape to the inner face of the door. First impressions much improved door shuts with a more re assuring thud in place of the tiny sound previously. For £13 from the builders merchant a good fix.

Now for the Carbon fibre look on the interior, in place of the brushed aluminium.

Dont like the aluminium interior bits so trying Carbon fibre wrap, Not sure about the look may go for Gloss black instead.
Just a couple of bits completed so far.

Could be another job for Sean then Paul. Get them all off and let him paint them

Tony.
If you do paint you could have subtle flecks of the exterior colour in the gloss black. A work mate did the same and it looked great and totally individual.

Nice Idea @Grumps , Thinking more about a discreet red fleck to match the seats. Anyone know of a standard manufacturer paint that may fit the bill?

Completed the Carbon look and all the interiors back together, bit of a pain having to remove the entire centre console but now its done happy with result.
Dash before with Brushed Aluminium:

Now the new look

Could not have attempted this without some great help from several you tube videos
Next job full detail and touch ups using Chipex, if its half as good as they claim should be just the job.

BMW Ruby Black - it’s a Z4 colour too.
Paint Code: X03

Get your steering wheel trims done also to complete the interior.

I never thought mate, I could have supplied you with a price of thin alloy to make a shield. Shed will be open on Saturday afternoon!

Tony.
