Made a start today

Yesterday I got Bob off the axle stands after cleaning up and greasing the rear brake pipes that were an advisory on the mot, they weren't in a bad condition tbh. Also sprayed the hinges on the spare wheel carrier with some WD40 while I was crawling around under there.
A few pics I took between the rain, snow and sleet showers...........

I like the chrome nut cover's,had to modify the locking nut cover to get them on........

Put a spot of glue on each one to stick them to the locking nut cover's,I put them on this morning so it no longer looks like a lovely smile with a missing tooth :D.
Would have took a pic but I got shouted at for playing with my toys again .....so I put the cover back on and went creeping......it was near dinner time and I can't cook .

Just one small observation, from an OTT ATD (attention to detail) the locking bolts aren't all opposite the vales. OK, I know but it's something I do without thinking, but if you've had to apply a dab of glue on the locking bolt caps at least you'll know where each on is.

Tony.

Blimey me Mr. T I never thought about that
Thought I'd done well by lining up the centre cap lines with the valves .....something you brought to my attention before ;).

Well mate with those shiny covers on they all look the same!. To be honest, if it was me I would chuck the lockers in the boot and replace them with 4 standard bolts. I know your car stands on your drive, but when was the last time you saw a car up on bricks after some one nicked the wheels?

This is very true mate and I thought about getting four normal bolts but impatience took over cus I don't have any to hand ;).
When I get round to wheel spacers I'll need new bolts so will sort it then
On that subject and after talking on here with Ant,it looks like 15mm spacers on the rears would suit well with these wheels and the fronts I'll leave alone I think. Ant had the same wheels as me and this is what he did. I used a straight edge across the wheel arches and measured from the wheel rim the straight edge,15mm was the gap at the rear,on the front barely anything.

Steve

That's the way to get your ideal spacers mate.:)

Tony.

Yeah, and if you need a spoiler sticking on ......................... ;) He's your man!

Tony.
You and Ant made a top job of your spoiler mate,it looks factory fitted :scorecard:.
So if I manage to source one I'll be picking your brains again ;).

 Looking the DB's Steve. :dog: Where did you find the nut covers? Gonna have to get some of them!
Had a look for the spark plugs but he hasn't got any now. You can pick them up for around £33 for 6 on the bay.

I got them from eBay about £7 for 20. I'll. See if I can put a link on here for them. They do keep the look clean.
No worries on the spark plugs mate ;).

Got the roll hoops fitted at the weekend that I bought from @Synclare (Adrian). Who is a very nice helpful chap :).

Took a little longer than I thought but it's all a learning curve and I had to remove the locks and swap them so I can still lock the cubby box with my key.
I think it improves the look of the car, more roadsterish .
Adrian has kindly lent me a wind deflector until I get my own,top man :D.

Steve

Grand job Steve, looks the Bizz.

Cheers Tony
The drivers side could do with being taller to accommodate my sticky out head though =))......I'd still be toast in the event of rolling it .

Steve

I'll see if it's possible to make a seat lowering kit then mate. Seriously though they look great and it's hard to see why they weren't fitted as standard really. You could always get an armour plated "stalker" ;)=))=))
