Got the tool and it went out in a minute. Soaked it in WD-40 as well to ensure minimal friciton. No more breaking the timing cover nightmares for me.




Is white lithium grease okay for easy install and removal later on?

I would use a smear of everyday all purpose grease.

Vaseline okay? is it safe to mix on the coolant?

Well done - looks like there are some corrosion deposits around seal - would suggest a good flush if you haven't already.

I already flushed with distilled water but looks like the rust is local on the GEBA water pump (Installing a HEPU). Combined it with being old plus no coolant maintenance, this is I guess what happened.

You only need a smear of grease so it won't matter.

Time to clean up. Feels like there's an ecosystem in here lol but i guess it's not that bad. Brake cleaner and some smoothing.
