Anyone who has just bought one of these surrounds off me, and is located near Alloa in Clackmannanshire FK10 1RX, please let me know - the guys at Bolt Base where I got the screws from and which I waited months for - have sent me one (1) screw short of the number I needed. So, rather than ask them to post me one screw, I figure, the person closest to that town, might be able to call them and get a screw sent directly. I'll be happy to let their MD know you will be calling, and he is to make sure there are no charges for postage etc...
Let me know asap, so that whoever volunteers, will get the surround with one screw short.. cheers guys.

I reckon whoever volunteers will be miles away - I hadn't heard of the place before ordering the little screws from them.... But obviously it will need to be posted anyhow, whoever volunteers... I can get Iain there to post it off today or as soon as I get the person volunteering - the screw will likely get there before the package anyhow...

I will be posting tomorrow - I have been kinda tied down at work today.... and I'm hoping someone will step up and agree to one screw less asap... so I know who to send it to... I have already taken your name off the list in that regard.. ;)

Its miles from me. I am in west Somerset and Alloa is in Scotland. There must be someone nearer but if no one comes forward give them my address and let me know

Hi Steve
thanks buddy - I'll send the details to Bolt Base this evening. I'm going to ask Iain at Bolt Base to send you a pack of 20 screws. Guaranteed someone will lose a screw at some time, so you may as well be the guy to hold a few in stock... I'll let you know the details from Iain tomorrow.
Cheers, Barry

Here's a list of all the parcel info. Also, I have included a link to a tracking website where you can follow your parcel until it reaches the UK, WHEN YOU CAN USE THE PARCELFORCE WEBSITE TO FOLLOW IT.

A. HEATHER - # RJ015474634ZA
S. WATTS - # RJ015474648ZA
G. CRISPIN - # RJ015474594ZA
A. MARTIN - # RJ015474585ZA
T. YOXALL - # RJ015474617ZA

The website for tracking will only show up any info in around 3 days time.

http://www.17track.net/en/

Please let me know when you have received your package - it's in a plastic "lunch box" type container, shrinkwrapped and taped up. So quite secure etc but still light for posting - the components are screwed together, so best invest in a T6 screwdriver type tool - you will find it's easier to use than an allen key.

I bought this little set some years ago which came in handy when opening up the instrument cluster, and other light work requiring a torx drive...

Thanks they are cheap as chips (old money) thing I will buy a larger set as this type of screw is used a lot on the Z ones with larger handles as I seem to have a constant pain in my wrist these days, getting old is not much fun but I will try to enjoy my Z3 and my TR4 for as long as I can.

Don't get me started on the getting old issue - I went for an eye test last week and the optician told me he couldn't do much to improve my short range vision, which is what I mostly use these days. I guess it's a "fuzzy" outlook for the duration now...:depressed:

General announcement to all concerned.......
Firstly, if you drop / lose a screw, Lowrider will be keeping a stock of the small M2 x 8mm black screws - you can PM him if you need any.
Secondly, the longer M2 screws of which there are 6, with nuts, can be got from Bolt Base in the UK if you can't find any at the local shop to you..

Finally, please understand that these surrounds are essentially hand made - ie. shaping them is all done by hand, so slight imperfections in symetry is unavoidable. Also, chrome plating aluminium is apparently a really difficult business, and the final result is sometimes not as perfect as a chromed plastic part one would ordinarily find as trim on a car - including the chromed plastic Z3 M gearshift surround... so please be aware that whereas I do my absolute best to achieve a really good result, the chrome process is not under my control. I did have a look at them when I collected them from the plating guys, and they all seemed to be pretty good.
Cleaning / polishing them should be done with normal metal polish. The lower parrt of the component is not plated - this is because the plating process would distort it due to intense heat apparently. As you will see, it is polished along it's exposed edge which is visible when assembled - this can be polished using a good metal polish such as Mothers if needed. The alternative is to simply spray the edge black, beige or whatever other colour to match the console.as near as can be.
I sincerely hope you all are pleased with the item and will be pleased with the additional trim finish to your Z3's.
