@t-tony think the pics of my underside show what it failed the MOT on, its the actual sill and not just the outer sill :nailbiting::mad:

That looks way too familiar, need to go and check mine wasn’t nicked over the weekend!

Get a good amp on that. I had a cheap amp and it was ok. Put an Alpine mono amp on it and it’s brilliant. Plenty of quality bass.

Do you have a link to the grill cover, I’ve been meaning to get one for a few years now! Still uncovered...

Well over the last few weeks - as it’s been rubbish weather, I’ve been giving the interior a refresh on the Silver Zed.

I’ve wired in the E46 M3 rear view mirror.

Installed a red extended leather interior.

Installed a Z3M centre console

Installed complete new audio system:

Built a custom sub box, using @Susan templates, with some modifications. Covered in acoustic carpet and cut front port. The top is covered in thin insulation padding and thick leather.

More photos to follow when I have some daylight.

Still to do:
  • Refit the wing / door mirrors, as bases being replaced with X8R ones.
  • Install Z3 OEM sub mesh cover to cover lower cubby hole compartment that now has the sub box port behind it
  • Install Amp bass control dial on switch blank

That’s a serious amount of work, you don’t hang about. That will be a lovely place to sit with all that leather and bass!

Great work.

Is there not the possibility to recess the sub which I think would make it look even better

Not really as the depth of the sub is to much. As the box has to go over the lip on the body, this limits the mounting depth. Currently the sub is only 4mm above the bottom of the box.

Just taken some more photos, this one is through the port hole showing the gap between the sub and bottom is about 1mm

Well my OEM speaker grill arrived and I got it fitted today. This covers up the old lower compartment and now allows air to get to the sub box port.

@Jjim. Could you make me a lid where you've put your sub? Mines damaged and I can't find a replacement? Happily cover any costs mate. :)

Sure I could do something. Need to have a look. I’m home most of Saturday afternoon watching rugby if you want to pop around?

Picked my wheels up from City Powder Coaters in Birmingham today :)

Just need to get the Centre caps sprayed in the same colour now and the AC Schnitzer decals put on the wheels.

That’s a fantastic price nice result, did the do the whole wheel or just the faces?
Its powder coating, so the whole wheel :)

Finish looks good, but I was in a rush and didn't have time to inspect them thoroughly. Once I get the caps sprayed I'll post some more pictures.

Some close ups of the wheels.

They appear good and I’m happy with them. Just got to get the centre caps sprayed now.

Originally the wheels had the AC Schnitzer logo painted on 1 spoke on each wheel. This seemed hard to replicate, so I managed to get hold of some white vinyl decals. Think I might use some clear lacquer to seal them on.
