@Mnbrennan I've a quick question for you mate.

When you removed the Amber lens did you replace it with a clear one or fit the unit back together without a lens.

I was testing it out the other day on an old headlight that I removed from my other z3 and everything came off very easily but it looks odd without a lens.

It does look odd initially, especially off the car but when I first saw it like this on @Grumpy's car I liked it. It works well on a customised Z like Reggie or Smurf with but on a stock Z you might find it out of place. Not seen it on a light coloured Z before, just pop them in and see how it looks on the car.

You could try smoking the amber lense with laminx or a spray for a darker lense look which I thought about and will probably do one day for a change, can't keep it the same for too long you know!

Sorry for OT!

What I would do Faheem, is get some very bright silver paint and an artists brush and paint the black plastic "rings" and then they would blend in more.

Tony.

Ah cheers @Mnbrennan good to know it got there safely. Took almost a week!

@t-tony that's a good idea, I'll give it a go, wouldn't the heat from the light bulbs cause the paint to deteriorate though?

I don't think @Southernboy has any left but he may do another run if you ask him @Mnbrennan! If not I have one that needs polishing that I was going to do until Barry did me an anodized black one, which is gorgeous by the way. If I have the time I could possibly polish it for you if you wanted!! JIM

Could the alloys have been straightened or were they too far gone?
