The interesting guess was sort of close. Very few producing cars of this class at the time.
It has an Italian body, British chassis, and American big block.
The car is a true British Classic that was produced in small numbers. A beautiful car though, very glamorous.

To be fair thats not that surprising. The chances of seeing one are pretty small. I believe only around 80 were ever made and they cost 25% more than an Aston DB6. Which is staggering.
They also suffer very badly from Italian tin worm, which makes them a car for either the South of France or California. But they are a very pretty car.

Just for the record, my interest in cars goes back to when I was very young.
My grandfather had a Jaguar XK 140 Fixed Head Coupe and I thought that car was the best car in the world at the time.
He bought me my first car, a peddle powered Willys Jeep, when I was six years old. (With a Jerrycan on the back).... B-)
I collected Thoroughbred & Classic Cars Magazine for years, until my collection was destroyed in a flooded cellar.

My grandfather had a Jaguar XK 140 Fixed Head Coupe and I thought that car was the best car in the world at the time.

I suspect that peddle jeep would be worth good money today. All things like that are becoming collectable. The peddle cars from our youth were incredibly well made and detailed. You see nothing like it today.
The jaguar was and still is a lovely and sort after car, a real quality vehicle. At that time they were an outstanding Marque which was very successful on the track. The only reason they're not mega money is that an awful lot were made and still exist.
I tend to buy "Classic & Sports Car" magazine and flick through the articles and ads. You can here me gasp nowadays when I look at the prices. Some are becoming unbelievable. I suspect looking through your old ones would have been a revelation!
The Bugatti is probably the most beautiful car ever made and is just a work of art on wheels. The lines are awesome. But I still reckon it's a 1936 57SC Atlantic. The 35 was the Grand Prix Car, I saw a few racing this year at Angouleme. I'm quite into "Old Timer" racing. It's a great venue if you ever get time to go.
