0950:
Mark Webber walks into the room and ignores Sebastian Vettel. Vettel tries to talk to Mark, but Webber walks away and takes a seat. Webber then says: "Multi-21, Seb. Multi-21" which must be referring to a team order.

BBC F1 co-commentator David Coulthard
"They're big boys and they will sort it out."

0952:
Sebastian Vettel manages a half smile on the podium, but I'm struggling to think of a time when I last saw such a muted, unhappy podium.

In Summary
Vettel wins, Webber 2nd
Vettel asks team to move Webber out of way
Hamilton 3rd, Rosberg 4th
Hamilton drives into McLaren pit box
Alonso, Di Resta, Ricciardo out
Sutil, Maldonado, Button out

Mark Webber refuses to celebrate with Sebastian Vettel when they pop the corks on their champagne bottles. Webber then decides not to put his arm around the back of Vettel when they pose for the traditional podium photo.

1002:
"In the end, Seb made his own decisions today," says Mark Webber on the podium. "And he'll be protected as usual." Ouch.

1003:
Former F1 driver Martin Brundle is the man in charge of interviewing the drivers on the podium. Here's what they have to say...

Sebastian Vettel, who finished first: "It was very close, wheel-to-wheel racing, there wasn't much room and it was a tight battle. I was a bit keen too early on but I enjoyed the fight and had the upper hand in the end. It was a very close race. I wasn't too sure about the race plan but it worked in the end. It's is very hot but if we have something to say it will be said in private. I think we both enjoyed it, obviously I am standing in the middle so I enjoyed it a bit more."

Mark Webber, who finished second: "The first part of the grand prix went very well for us. In the end we got the right strategy and after the last stop the team told me to turn the engine down. Seb made his own decisions and will have protection as usual. I turned my engine down and as we know he's a quick pedaller."

Lewis Hamilton on pulling into the wrong pit box: "I just did a Jenson, for so many years I was used to driving into the McLaren pit stop I don't know how I got it wrong, so big apologies to my team."

1013:
Wow. What drama, eh? And the weather barely had anything to do with it for a change. Tensions between Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel echo those of Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. Relations between the two drivers at an all-time low.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner tells Sky Sports: "They took it into their own hands, which was uncomfortable for us - we gave them instructions to hold station but Sebastian took it into his own hands to win the race - he wanted to win.

1017:
So both Red Bull team boss Christian Horner and Mark Webber agree that Sebastian Vettel went against team orders. I wonder what the implications will be...

GET INVOLVED
Andy Lowrey: "Fair play to #Webber say what you think. #Vettel completely out of order but has a Schumacher-esque ruthlessness about him."

Daniel Welch: "I say let them do their job, they're racers, let them race! It makes for more interesting viewing, which is better for the sport."

Dan Humby: "Me thinks @SebastianVetteI will have a few less friends than he started the day with!"

1021:
It will be interesting to see how Red Bull deal with this. Ultimately, Sebastian Vettel disobeyed orders. If any other member of the team did the same thing, what would be the result?

Sebastian Vettel issues an apology to Mark Webber: "I want to say sorry to Mark. He was trying to save the car and tyres, but I took a lot of risk in passing him when he was trying. I didn't ignore that, but I shouldn't have done it."

:^o

BBC Radio 5 live pit-lane reporter Jennie Gow
"Fascinating race and fascinating press conference. You can cut the tension with a knife!"

It's easier to obtain forgiveness than permission ;)
He still shouldn't have done it, it's just not cricket.
But the records will show that Vettel won, not that he disobeyed team orders.
I much preferred Nico Rosberg's humility in accepting the outcome with grace, even though he was obviously unhappy.

Well said, I agree with this.

We have had rule changes in the past few years which allowed team orders, why was the call not put back to Vettel to reverse the position change? Me thinks RedBull have declared today that they are a team with a number one and number two driver. Poor Mark.

Multi 21 – Who’s side are you on?

The 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix will go down as one of the sports more notorious races – not because of it’s unexpected result – but due to an unexpected/expected overtake and the rather cryptic term “Multi 21″. Multi 21 is a fuel setting term used by Red Bull, which essentially acts as an instruction to the drivers to “hold station and bring the cars home”.

F1 lookalikes, Lewis Hamilton in the studio, and some fun new "Multi 21" items in our shop as well as tickets for Monaco live in London!

Lewis Hamilton - The Album?
Controversy, politics and fun, F1 2013 is in full swing!
Hi Hard Top

How much fun is Formula 1 already this year? Two brilliant races, 2 different winners with a hefty dose politics and debate already. We had our own debate over the whole Webber/Vettel debacle in the Sett - read it here and add your own thoughts.

Our shop was quickly updated with some new "Multi 21" tshirts too, all for a bit of fun. Speaking of fun, there's fun "F1 lookalikes" on the site right now and this week's Podium or Pits (aka hot or not) features Lewis Hamilton who's swapping his pit garage for the studio to record his album, yes really.

In other news, tickets are now available for our Super Monaco GP Bash in May which will be loads of fun. Tickets include a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival, to get you in the Monte Carlo spirit and there's an optional dresscode of 'Monaco / Celebrity'.

And finally, we've got some new additions to the site including our shiny new forum for some Badger GP Banter, new and improved realtime charts showing how fans are predicting F1 in 2013 and we've the made the whole BadgerGP.com much faster with some clever techie wizardry.

Have a great Easter and thanks for reading!
