EWS IIIG Siren on/off key

Hi guys
Interested in this thread as, like 137699, I want to know that my siren works and is disabled rather than sitting there possibly out of control!!
My situation is that it doesn't sound at the moment even though I have turned my key clockwise as shown in this thread to make sure it is switched on.
I found that, when inspecting the alarm module behind the glovebox last week, I found that there were only 2 single wires running from the back of it and these appeared to go to the two motion sensors on the windscreen. I suspect there might be a third wire that should run to the siren and, if this is so, then it is not currently connected and that would explain the lack of siren activity when I switch the alarm on and test it by moving in the car. I plan to revisit the module shortly and see if I can find the missing wire so, if anyone can shed any light on the wiring between the siren and the alarm module , I would really like to know please.
The other reason for this post is regarding the entries above regarding the siren key. I have two and looked at them this evening carefully. They appear to be identical (or perhaps almost identical) and both seem to turn the alarm setting off and on after a little fiddling but, inside one of them is the number 1 and inside the other is the number 2. Can anyone enlighten me on that? Are they keys 1 and 2 for the car and the same or are they slightly different and maybe only both work because one is a little worn? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Have attached 2 photos which may help.

If you look on the lock on the siren it will have a number. I believe that this number should match to that on the key and that would be the key to use.
My lock has the number two on it. I couldn't find anyone with a key to be able to test this out.
What I did in the end was found someone on the group that was breaking a Z3 and had the same siren where the lock was in the On position already. When I put that siren in the car then my alarm made noise. I then put the other siren back in as I now know that it all works but I didn't want the siren going off in the middle of the night. :-)

@Richardrix , hi mate I think you could turn that switch with a pair of small circlip pliers maybe. Alsi I have a pair of needle nosed pliers which would likely also work. I'm guessing it's only the inner part which turns?

Tony.

Hi Tony, I did try allsorts to move the lock to no avail. In the end I bought a replacement siren for £15 that was in the on position :-)

Classic 'outside the square' solution. Well done. Will check today to see if my siren is a No.1 or a No. 2!!

I have a siren that seems to have a different key - please see attached picture does anyone have the same type of key for their siren ?

I've not seen a siren with that sort of key lock before. I presume that you have tried the ignition key on it?

I have with no luck - it may be that coordinating the boot, boor and siren locks was a step too far for logistics but will try it again

I understood from the parts guys at Sytners that the alarms were supplied by a 3rd party (who is no longer trading), which is probably why the keys are separate to the actual car keys. I don't believe BMW are able to supply the alarm keys and due to the alarm company disappearing we are a bit out on a limb trying to get replacement keys.

Thanks for the information. It would be useful if anyone with a siren like mine could photograph the key that comes with it and the siren number - a long shot and a big favour to ask but I am hoping that the siren maker and the locksmiths got together and worked out a code .

Can anyone confirm if this siren is in the on or off position, please. I am trying to get my alarm system to work, so just need confirmation. I tried Tony's suggestion to turn just the inner, but it isn't that simple, never is ☹️
