Euro cruise disaster

Haven't spent any time on the car for a few weeks due to a family bereavement and a couple of jobs on the house but had a few hours on her today.

Got the chance to try my birthday pressie from Jill and our boys, a lap top with the necessary BMW diagnostic program to go with the ADS/OBD switchbox I treated myself to. Once I got it working I set about diagnosing the rough running. Turned out to be a couple of injectors that I hadn't seated correctly. Got that sorted and she's running sweet again.

Thought I'd give her a quick run down the by-pass, so got the top off and off I went. Only did 3 miles as the MOT expired 3 weeks ago and didn't want to take too much of a liberty.

Tomorrow she'll get her first wash since June last year, but even so, I'll hazard a bet it's one more than @GazHyde 's car has had =))

Brilliant news Garry, bet you're well pleased:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes I am Dave but now I've got to decide what I'm going to do with her

Simple's, keep her Ratty old chap, oh and the car .... ;)

I'd love to but I've got too many cars. There's another Zed coming when I get back from Bahrain and I haven't got the room. Jill's got 2 cars, I'll have 3 plus my works van and our boys have a car each too.

I've agreed a deal with @Alan W for his 2.8 manual Z3. I'm picking it up when I get home from Bahrain in a couple of weeks.

The best news mate, hope the M.O.T. Is kind to you

Tony.

Lost faith in the old girl Garry? Glad you saw it through to completion, thought AlanW sold his 3 ages ago. From memory of photos he posted in the past it's a corkin car and black too?

So glad that it was nothing to serious and its running well.after all your hard work.
Been thinking about getting a 2.8 or a 3ltr but for me yours is wrong colour and not sure about buying auto unless its had a recent clutches replacement, but if it was cheap ?
I am in Wadebridge for a wedding at the weekend should we have any spare time while in Cornwall I will make contact to see if I can pop in and see you.

Kind regards

Geoff

Great news. Really pleased for you Gary. Really good that you managed to bring it back to life for it to live out its remaining years.

Alan's car is Arctic Silver with red interior. It's higher mileage than mine but it's well sorted and jt was too good a deal to turn down. We agreed a deal pretty much as soon as he listed it but I needed a little time to make some time for myself to get it home.
I'm not sure I'd say I've lost faith in my repaired car but I suppose there'll always be something in the back of my mind. I'm going to get her MOT'd and then I'll decide what to do.

I'm driving up to Teeside later today for a weeks work. I drive home next Friday night then I'm flying out to Bahrain on Sunday morning so I'm not going to be around I'm afraid. I get back in the early hours of Saturday morning of Bank Holiday weekend.

Great work mate, nice to see it up and running after all your work.

Will be back in Somerset then but if you do decide to sell let me know just encase I am tempted.
Have a good trip
Regards

Geoff
