I think everybody gets their stainless brightwork from Harringtons, as there is nowhere else who has the templates (that I am aware of), or can do them for less.

A pair of bumpers for the 250 Cali is around £1,700 delivered. You wouldn't get them made for that in the UK, even if they had templates.
I have a mate who is a stainless welder/ fabricator. I asked him if his supplier locally could make some. It was a NO, as they don't have the machinery to do them.
If bumpers are that ££ then count me out.

I told you this kit car business can get expensive! ;)

Bumpers, overriders, side vents, front mouth surround, grille to fit inside, bonnet vent trim, headlight trims (all in stainless) comes to nearly £3,000! And to be honest, it isn't made particularly well, either. The Vietnamese quality control is about 20 years behind the Chinese (and they're bad enough).

Can they work from a digital scan? If the quality is good then I'm interested
They like you to send over a pair of bumpers so they have the exact pattern to work from.
I would also expect the rear bumper to be made of three sections with overriders to hide the join, as the wrap around sides are too big for a single piece rear pressing

The 250 cali ones are a single piece and I don't see the 507 being any larger, or more 'wrap' on the sides TBH.

I was looking at the DNA Cali bumpers and I’m sure they are 3 piece. I need to check

None of those are DNA Cali bumpers. They are to fit genuine Ferrari cars. You have to ask for them specifically for the DNA kit. And they are both single bumpers, no joins.

You don't need to check. I have a pair in front of me, they are ONE piece.

As said above, the 'copy bumpers' are not advertised. It's like in the old days when 'special interest' VHS films were kept 'under the counter' (so I heard). ;)

I should have all of the redesigns done by the beginning of next week.

This is probably the last chance to make any positioning input before I commit to producing what I hope will be the final prototype. Just to say, there isn't much scope for changing the position due to the location and the required action of the Z3 lock lever. It's as high up the door as I can afford to go, 10mm lower would make things a little simpler from my perspective and there's almost no scope to move it forwards or backwards from the position shown in these images...

Cheers

Any news on this ? (Not that
I'm being pushy or anything)

How did you 2 get on with your wheel liners on the 507.

I've got the rear ones done and am reasonably pleased with them. Nice snug fit.

I cut the raised section out and plastic welded it all flat.

Front ones though need loads of work. I'm thinking of cutting the flared piece out and extending with thin sheet fibreglass

Having a new hood fitted on Thursday and was hoping to have all the wheel liners in.

Heat gun, bits of wood and g clamps and I've smoothed the fronts out, it's not brilliant but it'll do for now, I just want to get it on the road now and I need door handles for that 😞

I haven't done mine yet. It's next on my list.

Picture of your's?

Do you have a build thread anywhere? (anywhere except FB)

I don't have a build thread ...apart from pics on my phone.

I lead quite a hectic life with work, family and hobbies so find I have little spare time.

Hi all,

I'm pleased to say that my third iteration of the handle has turned out well. The video can be downloaded from our website, please follow this link, click on the link, download the zip file and unzip the video

Everything works as expected although I have a bit of checking to do on the version with the turn key.

Next thing for me to do is to mount the handle on the door and to mount the cable guide on the end of the door panel so that I can see everything working as a full system.

I've got a couple of areas that I'll tweak for the full production version but basically I'm happy that this does what it was desogned to do. After I've tested everything I'll be happy to send the pair of handles off for polishing and make them available for purchase. And after that I'll take a bit of a breather whilst I make the minor adjustments for the production version.

I'll then make them available on our grassbankconversions.co.uk website.

I noticed elsewhere in this thread discussions of wheel arch liners. We have our own fibreglass liners which I've got fitted on my 250 Califormia and which Justin has on all three of the 250 Coupe's that he's built. We made them a bit wider for the Cali but they are easy enough to trim with an angle grinder. They're also made in black fibreglass now.

Looking forward to answering any questions.

Fingers crossed they're ready in time - I'm booked into the Silverstone festival with the 507 😳

Hi @Piran, do you want to send me a private message with your mobile number and we can have a chat about getting a pair of handles to you. I think this pair will be good to go in a couple of week's time...
